Well, how do you make jungle bases that are good looking (not good as in "OMG!!! THAT BASE R ROXOR!11", more like "oh, nice base"), fairly fast (it would look kind of stupid if my Shas'o has a detailed jungle base w/ foilage and whatnot, but the rest of the army is standing on flat green flock ;)) and easy to make.

Sorry walruz, I don't think yer gonna get a fast jungle base...the fastest way I can think of is to use some thick foilage clusters [ The spongy stuff put out by woodland scenics ] glue to your base after you finish painting, make some pieces of foilage are high enough to cover the Taus ankle maybe even cover up to 1/2 of the models shin....Try it to see if it looks right.
Good luck.

When you say jungle bases... I recon you mean like in the jungles of vietnam...
Ever seen footage from the vietnam war?
It's not always just trees and strange plants... it's also long grass.
Take that as an idea, get some really long static grass by woodland scenics.
Intermix that with say........ do I dare say it?....... flowers? ;)
Add some sort of small trees and you should have a nice jungle base.

you could also make the bases a bit swampy with litle pooles and some fern. or you could litle tree stumps, give them some litle green spots like they are covered with moss and put some of them on your base.

I agree with shas...
Try adding as many distinctive pieces as possible to the base, long grass, sticks, rocks, puddles and so on.
The best way to illustrate the theme of the jungle base is to get a base as big as possible and consentrate much on that, so if in doubt the opponents will at least see one very good jungle base and maybe draw the conclusion to that other bases are that too.

I think they sell them at Forgeworld, but as all Forgeworld things are, insanely expensive. On the GW site they had a guide to this guy doing a scenic base for a Tau Firewarrior, you could simplify that.

Don't nescesarily go for the forge world scenic bases it tends to get a little stereotype if you only use them.
The little advice I can give is to maybe buy the scenic flying bases.
They look great as a focus for your commanders or specialized troops.

Start buy putting down small rocks like sand or dessert gravel from your local pet shop then paint it a dark green color and then dry brush with a dark yellow color then put foliage ad tall hair from hobby shop found in the train section which makes very good tall grass then once you get the base how you like it then do your other bases like it but change it up a little bit.

Okay, well I'd tell you what I'm doing for my jungle fighters, but I'm going to try to enter them to win a prize, so afterwards, even if I don't win, I'll keep an eye on this one, and I'll let you know what I'm doing.

Okay, so I'll give you one of the 5-10 things I'm doing, since I'm sure it's been done.

Ghille Suits.

Give all your jungle fighters full ghille suits, in order to do this, make your terrain first, then model a pattern that matches it. Use long grass, flock, static grass, wiring & pva & flock, covering the entire model, so only a few discerning features are visible such as the eyes, face, gun barrel, and feet. They may end up looking like a wookie, but it's still cool, so long as it's green, or whatever color you're going for, especially if it matches the terrain, since it's possible your opponent may not even see a few snipers you put in dense trees.

When your doing your ghille suit, model it from bottom to top, this will give it even layers, and you don't have to keep flipping it up, or letting it dry before moving on to the next one.
