I thought it was probably better to check first before diving in and just posting.

Is it against forum rules to post links suggesting kick starters people may be interested in (there's one specific one I have in mind an runs out in a few days)? I know there are rules about posting just for the sake of advertising but was unsure if this was covered?

Also, if it is okay to post the link and description, where would be the suitable thread section? Rumours and Previews?

Currently it's accepted to post Kickstarters which may be relevant to the community, in the Rumors/Previews section. Please understand that I'm not making this statement in any official capacity, as the mods and Mo are discussing the future of Kickstarter (and similar projects) and LO. For right now though, I think you should be fine to post up a KS on the boards.
