Notable achievements:
Armoured Fist Squad, 3 Platoon, Alpha Company. (Designation: 51134)
Under the command of Veteran Sergeant Aaron Carter the members of unit 51134 singlehandedly bought an end to the misguided crusade of the fanatical Palantine Angeliqu Du'Montfort by defeating the zealot and her elite bodyguard in close combat, before going on to reduce another squad of misguided fanatics and claiming the objective, all for the loss of only two squad members. Awarded the Macharian Cross for his masterfull display of tactical awareness and use of appropriate terrain.

[Real world note: This AF squad recieved a charge from a palentine and her celestine bodyguards without casualty and cut them down in close combat before initiating a last turn charge on a unit of battle sisters that reduced them below scoring and secured me a table quarter. They only lost one guardsmen to the sisters, the other casualty being the plasma gunner overheating in the first round of shooting (which is why my prefferred special weapons are grenade launchers)]

Army Summary: The Imperial Special Guard also known as the Obsidian Guard from the colour of the jet black uniform, led by Captain Kyrie Wei is an army created by the combined efforts of the Ordo Hereticus and the Imperial Guards. An army of 100 men drawn from the general population of Terra, and Vostroya, each and every Guard is drilled to the standards of an Inquisitorial Storm Trooper to ensure maximum efficiency and faithfulness at the time of needs. Half of the Company is drilled to hold their ground regardless of the situation, while the other half of the Company is trained in the art of aerial assault, dropping from their Striker Cruiser: Argos, striking where the enemy is vulnerable.
The primary duty of the Obsidian Guard is to serve as temporary personal bodyguards for any Important Members of Imperium deemed to be in danger by the Inquisition. Although protection is the primary duty of the Special Guard, often the Obsidian Guard are being used as watchmen to keep an eye on any Officials of the Imperium that are being suspected of heresy or daemonic influences. Because of this, Captain Wei was trained in the ways of an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor, and given all the Inquisitorial privileges allowing him to detect and stop heresy before it takes root.
The Imperial Special Guard is currently in Vostroya recruiting new Guards after the horrendous loss on their last assignment. The Priest of Ecclesiarchal they were protecting from a renegade Chaos Space Marines force exploded into a Bloodthirster of Khorne. Caught between the crossfire of the Greater Daemon and Chaos Marines, half of the Company was ruthlessly butchered. The Daemon and the Chaos Marines were finally repelled with the combined efforts of Captain Wei and the timely intervention of the Ordo Hereticus.

I made most of the grunts using Starship Trooper models. Their color scheme is sandy brown with blood-colored armor--I figured that would be good "camo" for a siege force retaking lost ground or spearheading an assault!

Gallofree Freedom Fighters: First Battlegroup
Born and raised on the terran world of Gallofree, the "freedom fighters" as they like to be called are brave, skilled fighters. War has ravaged their planet for years, but they have never failed to defend it. Infact, very little fighting has actually taken place on the surface of the planet. Gallofree is the 2nd most inner planer in a solar system of 6 planets. While the only mass inhabited planet in the system is Gallofree, 3 of the 5 others all have cities, mines, and military bases. Most of the invasions of the Gallofree system have only reached the first 2 planets, only one invasion actually made it to the gravity well around Gallofree itself. Known for their orbital shipyards, the people of Gallofree are naturally skilled mechanics and designers. They have even created variants on the standard vehicles of the Imperium to make them more effect, though few of these ever leave the Gallofrean Regiments. The military of Gallofree includes a special forces branch known as the Hellboys. Trained in both ship to ship and land combat, the Hellboys skill in combat rivals that of the Cadian Kasrkins.

Raised on the innermost planet of Corbrella, Colonel Winters is not the standard officer in the Gallofrean military. During the 8th Ork invasion, the one that nearly reached Gallofree, Colonel Winters was a mere Sergeant in the 18th Planetary defense group. When the threat of an Ork invasion became clear, all of the Senior staff had a meeting on the command satellite in orbit. When the command shuttles were all leaving to return to their respective groups, the Orc attack hit. It had come earlier that expected. It seemed as though they appeared out of nowhere, the men had no time to respond. Within seconds, the command satellite was a ball of flame, it appeared as though no shuttle had escaped. Without missing a hearbeat, Sergeant Winters, grabbed a vox and began to gather men. Running down the corridors, gathering as many as he could, Winters left behind those who were not ready, he had no time to waste.

The initial attack had come from an Ork capital ship, the chaos outside the orbital station was too much to comprehend. Now in the command room of the 18th Defense group, Winters found it disturbingly barren. Apparently, the 18th's shuttle had been destroyed. Gathering men he trusted, Winters set about rallying the defense of his beloved system. As an enlisted man, he had never been given the chance to show his tactical brilliance, but now it glistened like a beacon. No matter their rank, the entire military around Gallofree seemed to stop and listen, even the arrogant Hellboys followed without question. A Sergeant leading the defense of an entire planet may have looked funny from the outside, but no one was laughing, most officers ranked Major and above had been killed in the attack.

Minutes passed, and the chaos above Gallofree began to look like a viable defense effort. Using what navy he had left, Sergeant Winters drew most of the fire from the Ork cruisers and frigates away from his command structure. He had to do it now, there wouldn't be another chance. Gathering as many Hellboys and Guardsmen as he could, about 250 in total, Winters headed towards the hangar bay, and in it, the boarding craft. Thirty minutes later, there was a tremendous explosion as the Ork capital ship blew into a million fragments. Most assumed Winters and his men dead, but 10 minutes later, he stepped back into his command room, and began giving orders again. By now, the Orks were broken. With no one to lead them, they all fled, in opposite directions. It is rumored that some even flew into the sun. Immediately following, Winters was given a commision and promoted straight to Lieutenant-Colonel. Given command of re-establishing the Gallofrean system defensive grid, Winters patched any holes that previously led to the near-defeat. Six years later, he was promoted to Colonel and given command of the Rim Defense Force, the Regiment in charge of the newly created 1st Battlegroup, a mobile regiment stationed on, Tranivan and Onega, twin Ice planets in the outer rim, created for rapid response to any crisis, system wide. Still not the highest ranking officer in the Gallofrean military, none ever challenge or deny his decisions.

1st Hephaestian Dragoons

Homeworld: Hephaestia- A planet rich in many vital ores needed to sustain the Imperium, Hephastian regiments are well-equipped and well-trained, each soldier spending a minimum of three years in the PDF before being allowed to join the regulars, and another 5 must be spent before joining the elite of Alpha Company. They specialize in mechanized assaults, utilizing a high amount of melta technology to maximum effect against enemy hard targets.

Commander: Sir Edwin Panes, Field Marshal of the Glorious 1st Hephaestian Dragoons

Preferred Heavy Weapon: Multi-laser- Hephaestian units often advance and displace with little or no time to establish a defensive position, thus infantry units depend on support from Chimeras and other armored vehicles for heavy weapons.

Preferred Special Weapon: Meltagun- Hephaestian infantry prides itself on closing rapidly with the enemy, laying down an impressive barrage of short to medium ranged fire, and just as rapidly withdrawing to regroup for another assault. The melta fits perfectly within this doctrine.

Doctrines: Mechanized, Close Order Drill, Iron Discipline, Carapace armor, Grenadiers

Soldiers of Note:

Captain Serapio Cragan, Alpha Company commander, recipient of the Honorifica Imperialis for his actions during the breakout from Belaras Hive.

Major Jociefus Rizan, Bravo Company second in command, triple recipient of the Medallion Crimson, nickname "Iron Joe"

Corporal Winston Rye, Pilot of the Sentinel Sneaky Bastard, contributed higest tank kill count of any other sentinel pilot in the regiment. Is rumored to have single handedly destroyed a trio of Defilers with well placed lascannon shots, all while avoiding detection, allowing the Company to advance without preliminary shelling.

Sgt. Pontius Cragan, Captain Cragan's son, and squad commander of Grenadier squad 008. A natural combat leader and a dead-eye with his hellpistol, some say Pontius is being grommed for company level command... if he survives long enough.
