Mail order angry rant

There are 3 sprues to a carnifex:
The body
Different heads etc
Different weapons etc

So, if you had two of the body sprues and two bases, you could essentially make two carnifexes, due to the multitude of heads and weapons.

As I want a shooty and a CC carni, i figured instead of shelling out for another boxed set, I may as well just buy another body sprue, as I have everything else i need in my bitz box.

However, on the online store I discover, you can buy the head sprue, you can buy the weapon sprue, BUT THERE IS NO BODY SPRUE.

The cheek!

Those no-good money-grabbin byotches they have done this on purpose!

You're right, if you search "carnifex AND sprue AND B" you get a result, yet there is nothing there. I bet sprue B is the one with the body on, thats the most I can find of it.
It's the saem with stuff like the dreadnought or sentinel, they would lose to much money if people went this way to get multiple fex's.
is it just me or does the uk search not work ive searched for spue A and b and c and also eldar and farseer can someone please try searching something they kno exists to see if it works(i know that was totally off topic sorry)
anyway you could always look through the catalogue in their store and see if you can order it that way, or you could just go wth the hunch that carnifex sprue b is the part code in between A and C which if im correct could be part code:99380106011 however this would be completely recless as you could only buy it in store and you couldnt be totally sure of what you were buying thats if the staff members would let you anyway
The search works, its a little slow but it works fine.

The carnifex body that you can buy is frm the old model and as I said I think sprue b is the body one.

If you just search "carnifex" it will throw up a few results, the only sprues being sprue A and sprue C from the new 'fex.
In the catologue thing (not the net based, but the big, expensive buyable one) it lists all the sprues and stuff for everything. If the store you go to has it, you could likely parts order the sprue from the store.
I actually did what you are saying you'd like to do. But I found the extra body on eBay. It's worth a look, I think there were a couple on the aussie ebay website...
I had this exact same idea at about christmas time and i was too lazy to call. however i did download the price guide from their site and it lists carnifex sprue B and the item numbers match so it must be the newest model. post again if you find anything further.
Indeed. If you shell out the cash for one of their yearly catalogs you can find all the sprues in there, thus avoiding this, but thats only if you can get a catalog.
mmmhmm thats right! said:

Hi, I don't mean to burst your ranting bubble but I had no trouble ordering the Carnifex body sprue from games-workshop.com: http://store.us.games-workshop.com/...EX&System=Warhammer+40K&Image1.x=0&Image1.y=0
$22.50 for one sprue?! The more I look through the GW website the more it angers me into finding alternate solutions for customization. I can't see how they can charge $15 for one sprue and $22.50 for another and still get away with charging $7 to ship it.

They never cease to find new and interesting ways to rip us off.

I completly agree, however it's still less expensive then buying a full carnifex.
Honestly, there's only been a couple of times I have ever bought anything just from the sprue. It is as stated a royal jip.

However, there are alternatives:
- Ebay
- Buy another whole model (again, Ebay perhaps) and just get the parts you need and sell off the rest.
- Conventions almost always have a bits trading area.
- Make it yourself from existing pieces to get a close fit.

Thats a great suggestion, however I have never been able to find the amount of rippers I need for my army (aprox 150 individual rippers) on e-bay. Trying games-workshop.com wasn't any help either, they don't even sell the individual rippers, I would have to buy the whole sprue.
I don't like the idea of spending hundres of $$ for rippers that don't even cost a pennie each. I do beleve that games workshop is a ripoff and I can't help but buy things from them because Im more addicted to 40K then my smoking habbit, I mean for crying out loud... I spend more $$ on GW stuff then I do on Smokes!

To deal with ripper shortage, you can probably get away with just have 3 per base instead of the 5 per box. Simply say that each ripper represents 1 wound. That will help there.

Thats what I'm planing on doing and I still need 150 of the little buggers. Hey you wouldn't happen to know how to modle leaping on them would you?

What I'm planning for that is just having one of the rippers be the long one that looks like its jumping, do you think this would satisfy wysiwyg? or do all of them need to look like there jumping?

You don't need to model leaping for WYSIWYG. Hormogaunts and Raveners have leaping (being beasts) and there's nothing extra on them.

Oh, cool I didn't even realise that. Thanks.
