the other day i was eatting some yogo thingy,
when i noticed how convienvet the shape of the cup thing was.

After having washed out the cup,
i tried seeing how it looked on its own, as a simple silo or something.

Unfortrunetly i could only fit a single marine on the top (well bottom, cuase i turned it upside down) of it.

Which led to me thinking about changing it to a weapon platform type thing using spare bitz from the rhino frame.

i havent actrully built it yet, but durring math i thought up a set of trial rules

Heavy Support

0-1 Missle Platforms

Points/Model Bs AV: Front Side Rear
75 4 11 11 11

Squad Size: 1 - 5

Weapons: the missle platforms are each armed with Hunter Killer Missles.

Options: the weapon platform may be given extra armour or searchlights. No option may be tacken more then once per missle platform.

Speical Rules:
Secure, as they are built mainly for defending importent places all missle platforms may never move in the movement phase.

Seperate, all missle platforms are deployed seperatley and do not form units of their own, though they are all deployed at the same time. They may not claim table quarters or count for completing mission objectives

Plenty of Ammo, thanks to the large storage area within the platform, the hunter killer missle now counts as a Heavy 1 weapon, so may fire more then once per battle. All other rules apply as normal to the hunter killer missle.

what do ya think?
i personly like the idea as it would be very fluffy for them to be guarding an objective in say. A take and hold mission would be perfect.

Sounds good, but isn't it a bit dependent on the scenario and the terrain around it, I mean on the battlefield.

If you can make it cool, heck why not use it...

Anything can be used for a potential model or defence building.
If you get permission from other players to use, then use it...

Although I would change something. By giving it "unlimited" ammo it might seem unfair to sertain players. Ok now I don't know the precise size your your "yog thingy", but maybe you could give it a maximum amount of ammo like the manticore missle launcher.
It's got four huge missiles on it's back, why not give your Missle platform a "normal" ammo amount based on the size of the platform, say mayby 6 missiles. Thereby you would have to think about your ammo "waste" if the game could, I say could last more than six turns...

VDR'ed it as an Immobile vehicle with a missile launcher and it came out at 110 points. Gave it carriage so a Rhino with the Tow-bar upgrade (or a VDR vehicle with a Tow-bar, Rhino equivalent weighs in at 90 points) can move it around the battlefield. Just thought y'all might want that for comparison.

I agree that it SHOULD NOT have unlimited ammo, if it did it would have to have limited range. Otherwise excellent idea, let me know how it goes.

The perfect thing now would be that space marines got their hands on some Tau pathfinder flashlights, so they can mark their targets, and the Hunter killer just swoops around the trees to hit the enemy tank whereever it is on the battlefield :p

haha, yes that would be very scary. Marker lights with space marine missiles. well the idea sounds good, if ur opponent lets u play it, test it out and tell us how it went

Good idea but you should have it fire frag missles instead
