After reading a game report where a shooty Ork army totaled a Tau army (Yeah, I didn't believe it either) I've put some serious thought to creating a CC necron army.
Of course you'll have a solid core of troops (2-3 units of 20 each). It's just the assault part that stumps me. I'm thinking of fielding destroyer lords (Lord + Destroyer Body + Res Orb + Lightning Field and maybe a warscythe) accompanied by 3 wraiths. I don't have my codex with me so my rough calculation is this works out around 400 points for the lord and wraiths. This strikes me as a tad bit expensive for 4 models.

Any ideas, improvements, feedback would be appreciated.

I use my "Wraithlord" in almost every battle. (dbody, phase, orb) 333 points w/3 retinue(sometimes up to 9 wraiths), every battle he has caused major problems to the enemy(even just his unit vs deathwatch), I like to use a very CC 'cron army.

A horde of 30 scarabs can also be devestating against low str guns.
With 9 tomb spiders behind that rebuilding the fodder.
Only in 2k+ games though or you phase REAL fast.

In a perfect world, I'd take;

10 Pariahs

10 Flayed Ones
10 Flayed Ones

3 Wraiths
3 Wraiths
3 Wraiths
Necron Lord w/Destroyer/Warscythe/Phase Shifter

10 Warriors

Total: 1439 Points

A truly awesome Close Combat army, with the only major downside being that it has very few actual Necrons, and thus could Phase Out very quickly. If you want to offset this, drop a unit of Wraiths and throw in some more Warriors.

you should put in a monolith.

use the monolith teleport combo.

move the monolith 6'' inch.

teleport a squad of wraith's through the monolith.
deploy them 2 inch.

move them 12 inch, assault 6 inch.

there you just made a 26 inch move.

closecombat in turn 1.

and you need the closecombat infront of shooty armies. as they block LOS
