Hi there,

I play a world eaters army, with the following list:

1500 Pts - CSM: World Eaters Army

1 Daemon Prince @ 147 Pts
Mark of Khorne; CC Weapon (x2)
Daemonic Stature
Daemonic Speed
Daemonic Resilience
Daemonic Strength
Daemonic Aura
Feel No Pain

7 Khorne Berzerkers Chaos Space Marines (Troops) @ 204 Pts
Chainaxe (x8 ); Bolt Pistol (x7)
#Furious Charge
1 Free Aspiring Champion
Power Fist (x1); Bolt Pistol (x1)
Talisman of Burning Blood

7 Khorne Berzerkers Chaos Space Marines (Troops) @ 180 Pts
Chainaxe (x8 ); Bolt Pistol (x7)
1 Free Aspiring Champion
Power Fist (x1); Bolt Pistol (x1)
Talisman of Burning Blood

7 Khorne Berzerkers Chaos Space Marines (Troops) @ 180 Pts
Chainaxe (x8 ); Bolt Pistol (x7)
1 Free Aspiring Champion
Power Fist (x1); Bolt Pistol (x1)
Talisman of Burning Blood

8 Bloodletter (Troops) @ 208 Pts
Bloodletter

5 Khorne Berzerkers Bikers (Fast Attack) @ 268 Pts
Mark of Khorne; Chainaxe (x6); Combi-Bolter (x5)
1 Aspiring Champion
Power Fist (x1); Combi-Bolter

1 Chaos Predator (Heavy Support) @ 145 Pts
Autocannon; Lascannon Sponsons
Daemonic Possession

1 Chaos Predator (Heavy Support) @ 165 Pts
TL Lascannons; Lascannon Sponsons
Daemonic Possession

Models in Army: 41

Now he plays LatD, and he uses something like this:

3 aspiring champions of khorne with powerfists

3 units of about 20 or more mutants with mutant bosses with powerfists

1 unit of 6 traitors with an autocannon.

1 Leman Russ

1 Defiler

3 units of 8 furies

1 unit of 6 daemonettes

My zerkers just can't kill enough mutants a turn to get to the powerfistwielding baddies, so once I hit with al my marines, they are still standing and thwack me with 9 powerfist attacks. His daemons also have higher initiative than my marines, and my bloodletters are fearly useless against his troops. Also, he has a frightening score of hit rolls on his scatter dice, so usually he will render 1, sometimes 2 squads useless with his ordnance.

I don't know how i can wither down his numbers, my daemon prince can't taken a unit on on it's own because of the 9 powerfist attacks.

I've now been massacred 3 times in a row, and it isn't funny anymore.

Could you guys please give me some tactical advice?

First off, and I may be wrong here, but I don't think he can use his Leman Russ- I know you can't use squads of traitors that aren't full strength to fill compulsory troop allocations, but I can't remember if this applies to traitor tank or traitor recon units.

The best thing to do would be to focus on one unit at a time- swamp one squad of mutants with 2 squads of berserkers. That way he should only be able to bring 3 of those powerfist attacks to bear at once. I'm quite confused as to how he's managing to get all 9 on you- I'm sure you could explain what's going on, but I'm confusing myself trying to work it out. Also, I don't know if mutant bosses can take power fists (I remember seeing that upgrading them only gets them a better profile).

I really can't see too much wrong with your list. It must just be a bad list to take on LatD with. You can't win 'em all, just try out lots of different things. Or play other people. There must be more than one opponent, right? (Scrabbling for suggestions but I'm really just wasting time)

You can take one trator tank or trator recon unit for each trator squad. He has one squad and one tank, thus all is well. His compulsory troops are mutants so that is good. The mutant bosses can take 15 points of weapons from the chaos armory, thus the fist. It's big mutant bosses who can't take anything.

I would just have to say that a lost and the damned army with lots of mutants is a hard nut to crack with khorn. My first suggestion would be to use bolters on him as his army is CC but very slow. That is an option that isn't that useful with khorn.

Maybe try HB AC preds on the mutants, use the deamon prince's speed to attack one of the huge squads from an angle which wont allow the Pfists to attack for a turn or so. Sure you have to charge the nearest model, but use his speed to make sure that the fist isn't engaged on turn 1, you'll win combat, take D visage and hope he fails his LD test.

Cut the letters maybe for more zerkers.

Sorry if I'm not being too helpful but the best way in my mind to beat this list is to shoot it up as it walks very slowly at you.

Thanks for the advice guys, it's just that he positions his mutants in a way that it's very hard to assault the unit without his powerfist wielding baddies being withing 2 inch of a locked model. But hey, I think world eaters just have a hard time against his army, but next time I will try to take more advantage of my slightly faster movement.

Again, if anyone has more tips, keep them comming! :D

One final suggestion, spread your unit out backwards, like a 2 wide, 4 deep unit. When you charge only 2 or 3 of your models will reach base to base, engaging your whole unit, but only a small section of his, you can wipe out the engaged radius before he can attack back. If the engaged radius includes his fists, then he has to pull it.
