Full Poster

The Razorgor is case of nice legs shame about the face really. I will be getting one but doing some green stuff work on the face and then singing Hakuna Matata every time I move it.
I Love the Bestigors, especially the fact that they are now physically bigger than the Gors. I'm liking the minotaurs the more I look at the them, they are growing on me really.

This was posted by Nethraq on the Herdstone. As always I cannot vouch for the Veracity of these rumours.

Ok, just had a quick 5 minute convo with my mate who's had a 5 minute read thorough the new book.

Herds have split sad.gif, both ranked up but ungor get the option to skirmish
Unruly has gone
New rule for "herds"- when in combat take a leadership check.
If passed the unit gets hatred, if you roll insane courage you get hatred and frenzy. Didn't seem to be a downside if you failed.

Bestigor capture standards if they simply win a round of combat, get to add it (and any others they capture) to their combat res.

Minotaurs get frenzy if they win a round of combat, for every round they win they get a cumulative extra attack! Minos can only ever pursue or overrun 1d6 (they can now overrun)

Chariots STILL CORE

Centigor, still special not fast cav. No drunken every turn, instead roll a dice at the beginning of the game. Effects range from +2 I, to -1 movement to something else he couldn't remember.

New unit Harpies

New unit. Some kind of jabberwoky thing. Enemy units in 12" take Ld check, for every number they fail by take a wound no armour. seemed to be 5's across the board. If it takes a wound in combat enemy takes a S5 hit. 275 points.

Think he said about a gorgon thing, mainly 6's.

There was a normal giant, then there was a cyclops giant which was basically a giant with only Ld8, but armed with a stone thrower and every (enemy?) wizard within 24" has to pass a leadership check or not be able to cast spells.

That's all I've got for now.

Hopefully I'll be getting to look myself in the next couple of days so more info to come.

Ravik on the herdstone also posted thi
s.

Got to read it myself as well.

Gorgon ( i think it was) looks like a giant minotaur, and eats people

Cygor is a cyclops giant-gor that gets rerolls to hit against undead, daemons (I think) and things with ward saves. Tragically WS2. Stone Thrower.

Jabbersclyth is the jabberwocky thing. Flying, poison, terror, largetarget, 12" tounge attack, strength 5

Doombulls have D3 impact hits, normal minos have 1 each. Each round of combat won gives minos an extra frenzy attack for that combat (lost if combat ends or you lose a round).

Beastlord allows a reroll on the beastial roll when fighting against humans (Empire and Bretonians) which basically means it's likely the unit will get what is effectively eternal hatred. Something to do with insane courage adding in Frenzy to the unit he's with with that in-combat-roll thing

Great Bray Shaman are T5.

First spell of the lore was something like all friendlys within 6" get to move D6 towards nearest enemy in sight or forward. Not too sure on that one.

There's another that makes the mounts of a unit attack the riders.

2 chariot types, ungor and gor. Ungor one is core, not sure about the gor one, but is pulled by razorgors from what I was told (didn't see that page)

No gargoyles, but we do get harpies.

In response to a question about Ambush Ravik mentioned this.

Ambush yes. Need to confirm who has it and how it works. Pretty sure it was just gors and ungors for it.

I think the bestial roll is for gors and bestigors.

Sadly I didn't get a thorough look at all the stuff, moslty brief glimpses.

The rare choices all looked to be 200+ points each, giant 205(?) the others 275ish and the spawn at 55 or so.

jared, you are a god. Well done man + rep xD, scary bought the ideat of a group of bestigors that essentially get a +2 static combat res for winning (one for the standard and one for them losing it) unless i'm reading that wrong (i hope so) hehe, gorgon sounds like a cool idea too

im not digging the razorgor at all.
the rest look good. the musculature on the minos is a bit ridiculous, but not that big a deal.
cyclops giant sounds insane. a chance to completely shut down casters in 24", thats borderline op. gonna have to wait and read up more on that guy.

ive been waiting to do beastmen for a long time, im definitely looking forward to the new book.

I agree about the Minotaurs musculature, but im still getting some! I've also been waiting for beasts to be redone for a while, really looking forward to them!

I also like how the Ungors are more human in their appearance. Thanks for posting

Wow, thanks for posting this! I must say I actually like the look of the Minotaurs, an improvement from what I recall of the previous Minotaur miniatures. Beefy and ugly, just like a beastperson should be! Also how many of the other beastmen look more human, I think it's a better touch.

Although the Beastigors do remind me of something I saw in that Narnia movie, I think it's the red armour and the fact that they look a bit too tidy to be a chaotic beast. Still something I'd certainly consider if I went into WFB and wasn't such an undead-head.

Thanks for brining the pictures to my attention.

Oh dear, what a shame about the minotaurs! I was really looking forward to a good minotaur kit but I'm sorry to say I'm do not like them at all, they had a really good opponity to make a cool plastic kit that would sell great, but whats with the ridiculous muscle and the feet look stupid, minotaurs should have hairy heads like a bull but they look like warcraft tauren.

The beastigor look great though, the rest is a pile of poo, escpecially the razorgore, i thought everyone was joking!

I'm really not found of the minotaurs. Why do they add alot of muscles that wouldn't even be in a body? The face of the screaming one looks a large piece of greenstuff where they only have drawn some lines in. But what I really dislike is their feet. Which... is just that. Feet.Hidden under some bags of meat which I guess should be muscles.

For the rest of the army... I think I have to sell my Warriors of Chaos army so I can start a beastmen army, and get back into fantasy.

Well I will be getting a Razorgor but only so that I can get a Razorgor chariot as its obscenemly hard hitting. D6+4 strength 6 attacks on the charge (Razorgor has 4 attacks and strength 5 basic by the way but gets +1 strength on the charge like a normal Razorgor.) and then the Bestigor riding in the chariot get to attack as well with their own strength 6 attacks, which are still subject to the Beastial special rule so the entire model may be subject to hatred or hatred and frenzy. Overall very killy if it gets to charge which with the proper application of chaos hound screens is a likelyhood. :sinister:.

i read the entire thing cover to cover yesterday, and to say that this army will be winning grand tournament easily is an under statement. Some of the magical items are just stupid and i mean, like seriously ridiculous.

Me and a friend decided to see how broken a unit we could create. We came up with this.
A minotaur BSB with a weapon that has the following rules:
Counts as a spear, with Killing blow. and also counts as a Bolt Thrower which can stand and shoot.
in a unit of minos with full command. 6 strong.
Then put a doombull in this unit, according to the rules you can then move this guy to the second rank... so yeah thats pretty dirty...

Also I love the minotaur models... I don't see why people don't like them. however, my Local GW staff member (whos like my best mate - who allowed me to read the book) then told me some distressing information:
£27 for 3 plastic minos.......

Also other things to consider: their magic phase is now amazing. the 6th spell... well... lets say summon undead horde.. easier to cast.. have a gaint.

Other things include, point drops and buffs for everything except centigors who really got another "raw" deal.
The ungor models in the book look a little stupid, and from what i saw Ungors can also take bows now.

for their points cost. and i'm not joking. in 2000pts you can field your core choice for under 100pts. just a little indication their of how the power gamers are looking at this army.

As i remember more (ive just woken up) i'll write more.
