Ok ive been out of the loop for awhile with school. Have there been any updates on when a new WH codex is estimated for release. Last i heard(and this was awhile ago) was early 2010ish.

Well that one is gone. First of 2010 is the nids, and no big rumours atm about the WH codex

from quick glances in the rumors section of this site, it would seem that at best estimates an inquisition codex would come out maybe early 2011....but thats not based on any real hard evidence from me...just what i saw others saying

I wish they would do an Inquisition Codex where you could pick from either Sisters or Grey Knights as long as you had an Inquisitor as an HQ choice.

Sisters don't need an Inquisitor. They go on wars of faith all the time, which is Ecclesiarchy. They are, however, still the Ordos Millitant of the Ordos Hereticus aka Inquisition. Basically, if you take an Inquisitor it's Witchhunters, if you don't it's Ecclesiarchy, but one shouldn't be required to take one.
I think more from the Ecclesiarchy would be cool, actually. Like a Cardinal with similar rules in the traitors list.

I'm with you ikbuh- I still use the chapter approved rules from the second book of the astronomicon to represent priests when I play friendly games and my opponents approve; that lets you differentiate between confessors, missionaries and priests.
As for a combined codex, it could be good, but I really fear oversimplification if they try to combine two books in one; they may also try and throw in some material about the Ordo Xenos to further complicate things.
I hope that they maintain the unique feel of the inquisitors of the various orders, rather than creating a single one size fits all inquisitor. New codices are sometimes as much of a curse as they are a blessing.

I hope so too because each Inquisitor is different. I mean come on, a Hereticus Inquisitor Lord is possibly the most terrifying thing in the Imperium, fluff wise that is, whereas a Malleus Inquisitor has seen more things that any man should ever see and laughs in it's face (or what counts as a face xD).
I would like to see more options for radicals as well as more special characters. There are so many stories about BA people in the Inquisition and yet we only have two characters. Personally, I think Quixos is a perfect example of this.
Cramming them all into a single codex would indeed be a large codex, but I doubt it would be bigger then the freaking SM codex, hell we share half the units already.
New things I would like to see:
Cardinals with rules like the Apostate Cardinal in the adversaries
Some sort of sanctioned Psyker for Radical WH
Non-character Living Saint
Fast Attack specific grey knights, like GKs with fleet or something
Henchmen independent of an Inquisitor (squads of crusaders anyone?)
ISTs on Bikes. Nothing says "Get the heretics!" like a biker gang!
Fanatics or similar unit
New characters (*cough*Quixos and Rex*cough*)
Improvements I would like to see:
Deepstriking GKs as troops
Arcos that don't kill themselves
PEs that don't die to a light breeze
Cheaper repentia
More reliable Daemonhosts (Power Weapons?!)
Sisters in Artificer armor that could assault (like mini termies)
Things I don't want to see:
Faith Nerfed/overly simplified
DROP PODS... for the love of the Emperor NO DROP PODS
GKs on bikes (maybe sisters... maybe)
Loss of independence between ordos
Fluff killing
These are just some things I think would be great and seem reasonable.

I just want to see basic things... like more than ONE troop choice that is really viable. IST's are good for late grabbing of objectives, but they will simply fall over if a strong breeze comes around. We need something that compliments the SoB.
I'd like to see more use out of the elite section. Celestians are the only thing that anyone runs. Yes they are awesome, give us something else to choose from, because everyone is running, basically, the same list.
I just want variety in the FOS that we have now. Make Repentia worth having around, because they are terrible. Make Penitent Engines more reliable. I don't care anything about ISTs on bikes, or drop pods (which I hope that we don't get).
I am with anyone else who thinks they are going to combine the GK book and our book. I can't say that I am super happy about that. I like the really unique feel of the Ladies. It would also lend it self to a nerf or at least a severe overhaul of the Faith system, and that is what makes our army so nice to play.
Clean up our Codice, give us some more units that actually work in each slot and call it a day. If they want to put GKs in with us, that's cool. Don't water down the Sisters when you do it, and make the Knights more like us, not us more like them.
We aren't an assualty army. There are enough out there already, hopefully we can stay the way we are.

Wow- I agree with your wish list there ikbuh, but it's a really tall order. There's no way gw will get all of that right, especially if they do a combined dex. I guess the one thing that I do disagree on is that I wouldn't mind drop pods; I don't know if I'd actually use them, but fluff wise, I've always wondered how sisters make planetfall. Personally, I'd like to see an air unit, like a valkerie or a thunderhawk rather than drop pods, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm still planning on converting a valkyrie to make it look like a sisters vehicle (lots of bits from the Sanctum Imperialis).
And Fizzics, I agree with a lot of what you've said too- I think your expectations are a little more likely to be satisfied by the new dex, just because your wish list is smaller. Regarding your comment on elites, if they could fix the repentia and make them a viable choice, I'd be quite happy; all they really have to do is drop the points cost.

If I'm not mistaken, Sisters make planet fall by getting dropped off in ships. Probably the same way IG do. I despise Drop Pods with a seething passion and will quit playing =][= if we get them. This is mainly due to a few smug SM players who think they know how to play every other army. One in particular said that Grey Knights require the same amount of finesse as space marines, which led to me questioning how slamming a drop pod on the table required finesse. I will hold my tongue here because otherwise I'm afraid this rant will become a lot more... flavorful...

We don't even know if there is a new codex coming out or nor. All GW did was pull the books off the shelves and my list was more of a wish list of possibilities that I know probably won't make it in.
But hey... Biker ISTs do sounds pretty awesome, eh? xD

One word for this sentence: RUBBISH!
Both need to keep their unique nature. None should be the same, a regular marine is more like a sister then a GK is.
My hopes are for making an inquisition codex. All three in one, each ordo militant available. Inquisitors mainly fluffwise differently, who needs a crappy WH =I=? Sorry, some of their henchman are decent, but the =I= itself sucks... Maybe give some ordo only items. Personally I love playing =I=, not wh, dh, sisters or gk. Sisters and GK are fun, but combining makes my day...

I agree 100% with that.
The Witch Hunter Inquisitor isn't that bad, I've used one plenty of times testing out various builds, my favorite being giving a lord scourging, hammerhand, a familiar, 3 crusaders and 3 churgeons. It is a surprisingly sturdy unit with it's 4+ invuls and wound ignorance and gets a surprisingly large amount of attacks on the charge, and while I doubt I'd use it competitively, it's honestly, not that bad. If I could replace my Inq with a DH InqLord in termie armor with lightning claws or something, I think it would be a little bit better xD
I would want a combined dex if they manage to keep the different Ordos distinct. What I would like is a core of generic inquistor + ISTs + a few more goodies.
By generic inquisitor I mean they all have access to the same basic stats/wargear/powers etc. Then you pick one of the Ordos and this 'unlocks' Ordo specific wargear/powers. No mixing and matching Ordos is allowed.
Having a WH inquisitor and/or Sisters HQ would allow the use of Sisters.
Having a DH inquistitor and/or Grey Knight HQ would allow the use of Grey Knights.
I definatly want all the stuff that doesn't work anymore fixed, points costs to be fixed, and for each 'specialised' part of the army to still be powerful in its own right. I disagree. I'd say you get to use them anyways, but not as troops. It seems logical to me that the more specialized units might be called to battle by some other hq...

or perhaps there would be a lesser hq which would allow you to take the units in general. Kinda like the way a priest works now.

Personally I'd REALLY dislike that.
My personal preference would be:
The SoB in the correct slots as standard, except for troops.
The GK's in the correct slots as standard, except for troops. (Maybe a new addition)
Some DW in the correct slots, except for troops.
And each Ordo Millitant HQ unlock the respective troops.
A bunch of specialized/radical choices.
=I='s and IST as basic troops/elite/HQ (in each respective slot).
This would make for a pile of different and interesting/ nice lists...
