Well, I have considered starting 40k several times, and have finally decided to play for sure with a space wolf army.

bear in mind, be completely brutal because I havent played a game of 40k in over 8 years and i dont want to waste money on stuff that isnt worth using.

Not a fan of dreadpods. They seem popular, but then you have a single walker right in the face of the enemy's meltaguns and at best he might make his points back before getting roasted. That's not to mention that his drop pod's points could probably be better used for another rhino.

I would give the footsloggers a rhino. If you want to put the RP in the PG unit then drop the second plasma gun for it.

The long fangs are good. A second option is to put the RP with the long fangs, but then you don't have the range to try to stop enemy powers, though you can living lightning each turn with it.

ok, well with the footslogging GH unit i was planning on having them to support the long fangs from any infiltrators and to sit on an objective while my two rhino units and the dread pushed up into the enemy.

I can see how the dread would be nothing more than a speedbump the way it is though.
