Apparently there's new vehicle rules in the italian WD. Why they're only in the italian edition is beyond me, but anyway here's some stuff from portent.


1) the best thing is the overall clarification of the veichle rules, from movement to fire; so they are a MUST have!!!!
2) damage table are, contrary all rumors, more GRAVIOUS. FREX additional "weapon destroyed" and "immoblized" results have additional effects. Penetrating damage table is a way WORSE... now if you get "immobilized" or "weapon destroyed" in that table.. you HAVE to debark woith cargo!!!!
3)lot of clarification for blast weapon.. they must be aimed with the center ON a veichle.. and only if the centre is ON the viechle it has full strengh.. otherwise the S is halved
4) ordnance move AND fire, but roll for Bs. if miss, the shot is LOST.. otherwise work normally!
5) GUESS is gone forever.. you place guess weapon where you want... but if you not see the point, it scatter 2d6!!! but if you roll hit.. you are going to harm a lot your opponent!!!
6) skimmer who move 6" or less can be just immobilized and are not destroyed... so now IS an option move 6 or less!!! 
7) the rumor about S5 weapon can always fire is true.. but ONLY in Addition to other weapons.. so if you move 6"; you can fire a weapon and the all other S5 weapon... unless you use artillery....
8) Rhino rush is dead!!! you can no more debark & assault, unless the veichle is open topped! if the transport is destroyed.. the cargo CANNOT move and fire next turn!!!!!! also you cannot debark if the veichle move more 12" NO MATTER THE SPECIAL RULES!!! yes, red paint job, turbo and overcharged engine LOSE they special abiliteis!!! Also note that some result on the penetranting table force you to debark!!!!!!!!
9) you CAN use grenade on dread's.. but only hit on 6... to compensate, you NEVER roll against back armour, even if in contact to it!!!!
Damage rolls:

glancing...
1-3 are the same
4 is weapon destoyed.. if you finish weapon, cont as 3
5 is immobilized... if immobilized count as 3
6 is as before

penetranting
1 is the same
2 is weapon destroyed... +you can move and fire+the cargo must deembark!
3 is immobilized+cargo must desembark
4-6 are the same.. some extra fun is addeded becuse the destoyed veichle cna be roll and end on lynd on the flak or filp upside down!
I think I'm going to like this... especially with my Vindicator and Defiler yes...

You found this just in the italian WD?
How about English, any idea when that will come around?
Some of it sounds cool, like the guess weapons B)

Well, I didn't find it hehe, I just found it on GW forums, then I checked portent. I don't know why they are printed in the italian WD rather than the UK version, but as long as there are italians who translate and post em I'm okay with it :D .
Even though the damage charts are more severe now, I must say I like the move and fire ordnance and S5 weaponry, makes my army more mobile :D . And I'm sure there's a lot of happy players out there now that rhino-rushing lost it's spark!

im not so sure i like some of the changes... i think that the BA should still rino rush.. (no i dont play them) and str 5 weaps move and firing takes alot away from the land raider crusader. and as if IG tank companies arent good enough??

Well, maybe the Land Raider Crusader was their inspiration for the Str5 weapons being able to still shoot. But talk about ass rules! I think Guess weapons should stay, but they should bring back spotters so that if he can see the target the artillery doesn't need to guess.

ASS well, the not being able to disembark AND charge makes the Land Raider Crusader absolutely BUNK, CRAP and USELESS! Frag Assault Launchers? What's that? Useless? Yup!

Nope, they can't. If they move 12" they can disembark but not assault, if they use overcharged engines to go >12" they can't disembark at all. Like I said, many happy players.

So I take it these haven't been confirmed yet?

Im not to happy with the guess range going, sort of loses a bit of realism IMO.
And the rhino rush thing. Hmmm not sure, I guess it'll force into thinking alot more about the risks of having troops left out in the open until her next turn.

I take it these will be 4th Ed rules?

Hmm that'll be fun...
A 10 man squad of chosen mounted in a rhino, three armed with heavy bolters...
Could be fun,, Rhino with a kick!

Lol, I think that only applies to vehicle mounted weapons, not those of passengers.
Btw you can only fire 2 weapons from a rhino :p .

Imagine this: Iron Warriors with a Basilisk with indirect fire and two Defilers with indirect fire.
Or just Guard with three Basilisks with indirect fire
Indirect fire will be a killer if these rules are true for 4th edition.

I really hope that 'Guess' stays in the game. I find it much more fun to hit with a correctly guessed shot instead of a direct one. Besides I'm starting to get good at guessing ranges so they can't remove it now!!!

As Toastee said, guess adds more realism to the game. If guess goes away people will be seeing quite a few more indirect fire weapons in people armies.
I hope guess doesn't go away. It would be nice though. Nice but kind of cheesy.
If it's true just space your units and models apart.

The 2D6 scatter will help a lot with the no guess range a lot.
I'm just saying that indirect fire will become easier if the no guess thingy is true. You don't even have to guess at all. But it will be less unrealistic. Oh well.

The guys in my store said the new rules will be in November WD, and that much like the assault rules will be adpated and incorporated into the 4th ed rulebook in autumn '04.

Also the Land Raider crusader will be able to move, disembark and assault as a result of its grag launchers... yeah for my terminator then. I have to say these rule sound like a far more promsing upgrade than the trial assault rules from a few of months ago.

is this for the northern or southern hemisphere?
