Hey guys, I am new to the warhammer universe, but absolutely love everything about it. I come from a small town where nobody else had even heard of warhammer so I haven't had much oppertunity to witness gameplay. I've created a 1000 point army list based on the Emperor's Children, any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. My goal having never played before was to create a balanced army that might not win every conflict, but would certainly stand its ground fairly well. The points aren't exact at the moment as I have misplaced my list and am doing this from memory.

The Intended Plan
The lieutenant joins with the close combat marines and crawls across the field towards the enemy while the two other platoons of marines lay down covering fire. The bikers get to the enemy army fast, take out heavy artillery and provide a source for daemon summoning behind enemy lines.
