with all this new tau stuff coming soon, (all looking great) im thinking of starting a force of about 1500 points, i have played with and against tau before so i know basicly how they work normally. but i dont want a shoot heavy army. how do i get around this, and can i make an entirely kroot and vespid army.
the reason for not wanting any actual tau is cos i dont want goats in yellow suits fighting for me, oh the shame

chances are you will be able to make an all Vespid army, but not with Kroot, Because they are mercenaries. you'd need a kroot/vespid HQ, and then your army would suck.

I would really like to see a Chapter approved Vespid commander! That would rock! If you don't like the yellow suits then don't use them... or better up, just don't paint them in the yellow/brown tone. There are plenty of other suggestions in the codex. And you can always use Stealthsuits instead of Crisis as Elites. :hmm:

I h8 the yellow scheme 2, but you could think of ur own. (radical eh?)
If you dont want a shooty army, then dont collect tau. The new vespids are shooty (sm killers) and kroot are T3 with no power weapons. Also Fire Warriors are and always will be 1+. Basically either change your ideas or go for kroot mercs or another army.
