Price Change for GW models

because Warhammer Fantasy is more attractive too youngplayers at the time... Thats my experince in Denmark, and as always GW takes it out on vets... Could be the other way around, don't know much about other countries...

vets=people who have a job
noobs=kids who get their money from allowance

So if noobs play mainly fantasy and vets mainly play 40k, then GW is increasing prices on 40k instead of fantasy because 40k vets get more income.

This is purely speculation.

Although I play 40k and I am just going into high school.

The change in price also coincides nicely with the tau empire release.S o Hammerheads and Devilfish both fall into this category.Buy your HH and DF now before they go up in price!

^This is what GW want^.Old stock is sold up, price increase before a huge release, and People who wouldnt necessarily need to buy stuff, go and buy it before the price hike.

Dont fall Victim. Buy your models from Ebay shops.Cheaper and better IMO.

yes... That is true... But from the other point of view; kids are most likely ritchkids getting the stuff from there parents, that will pay large amounts of money (either because the really like seing the kid happy, or guilt of spending too little time with little timmy... anyway, the result is the same for GW), therefore making those parrents pay...

Yes, indeed... but some of us are not ABLE too... most actions are for a limitit area, and im not in the US or the UK...

same here but i'm in high school and it is kida hard to play 40k on a small allowance don't you think

I have to sell models painted on ebay to fund my GW addiction.Its the only way to survive until I get a proper job.Only problem is that it costs a lot of time and a certain amount of skill in painting is required to make it worth while.

I t was posted on the GW news page as well.Well at least its not a complete overhaul on prices thank goodness.I think i will go vallejo since paints are hitting £2 a pot.Riddiculous if you ask me.

i cant belive parents buy there kids this stuff, no ones ever got me any warhammer stuff

The only time my parents buy me stuff is on one of the following conditions:
1. My parents owe me money
2. Birthday presents
3. Christmas presents
4. End of school year (only sometimes)
Other than this my parents just me clothes and stuff.

But here in the US were are paying $3 for paint. A normal tank and infantry squad is about $35. An APC is $30. I get $25 a month. Its just too expensive.

im in the same boat as u my friend, i make $30 a month, some of my friends make $25 a week, but have nithing to spend it on. i wish i had that kind of moola, i neeeed a job

Right, I am no longer a Games Workshop customer! I am writing a letter of complaint to the GW head office! Here it is so far:

Dear Games workshop,

Why do you see fit to raise your prices? If you are trying to increase your profits then surely lowering your prices slightly would cause a substantial increase in profits.
I have been an avid hobbyist for some years and I am greatly annoyed that prices are to go up, also many people may be inclined to illegally produce your models and cause Games workshop to lose even more money.

Also I was wandering where to get an alternative source of paints for my minis... anybody know of any good brands?

Its good to hear that someone is going to speak up Codicier_Korsai I would really like to read your letter of complaint I would send it to them as well.

The more people that send a letter of complait like that the better.You should start a topic where the letter can be copy and pasted and the adress to send the letter to.The more people the better.Alternative paint source:Vallejo paints

All I can say its not going to work.

I've done it many times. Unless you convince thousands and thousands of people to spam mail them. then yes. it might work.

Also you'd need to let them see even more dramatic decrease in revenue for that to happen.

will this price hike be active in canada cuz jeez its alredy like 40 for troop 55 for tank if it goes up anymore i dont know i just dont kknow might have to organise a tedious and dangerous plan to interecept trucks carrying gw models :shifty:

Again, this price hike is only in the UK . As they have been paying dirt cheap prices... compared to the rest of the world... and even so... they still have it the cheapest..
