Resources for cheap minis

I have seen many people with more love for the game than money (I am one). I thought I would share some links for those of us who want minis, but dont have an extra arm and leg lying around to give GW.

Note: these are in no way official. While some might pass well enough that no one would notice, they are not GW minis and are not tourney legal. But if you never plan on doing a tourey, and would like a cheap alternative source on minis, check these out!

Black Tree - very cheap, also sell unit deals
armies supported:
Vampire Counts
Skaven
Dark Elves
High Elves
Wood Elves
Lizardmen
Bast of Chaos
Dwarfs
Orcs and Goblins
Brettonia/Empire

Tin Dictator - you cant find cheaper Dwarfs and Orcs
try 40 cents a piece in bulk! Look under EM-4 link. There are also some plastics that would make decent IG and Marines.

Old Glory - very dynamic poses and a great price
armies supported (click the Dwarf Wars link for more):
Dwarfs
Brettonia/Empire
Orcs
High Elves
Dark Elves

Mirliton - for the old Fantasy Warriors game, now re-released
armies supported:
Chaos
Dark Elves
Dwarfs
Orcs and Goblins
Brettonia/Empire
Ogre Kingdoms
Vampire Counts
Wood Elves

Prince August - possibly the coolest
you can buy moulds and make your own fantasy models!
I have a few and love them. Hundreds of Dwarfs for pennies!
Click here for a US distributor

Gamezone - ok, these arent cheap, but they are fantastic!
this is the UK link. Gamezone is a Spainish company
armies supported:
Chaos
Empire
Dwarfs
High Elves
Orcs
Dark Elves
Bretonnia
Vampire Counts
Tomb Kings

Hope this helps one or two of you!

Best Wishes,

You left out Reaper Miniatures? They have some awesome work at good prices. I use their medium-size dragons for my Daemon Princes, their war dogs for my Rough Riders (aka K9 Corps), swordsmen for my Possessed, and select models for HQ models, Spawn, conversions....
Great point. Reaper is one of the oldest mini companies still in existence and has provided some amazing quality sculpts in recent years. The prices are always very reasonable as well. I would suggest anyone looking to check out their Dark Haven line for army deals, and their game Warlord and their regular line for some impressive character models.
Got any sources for cheap 40k stuff?
There aren't a lot of sci-fi mini manufactures who's lines aren't tied directly to their own game (making them more expensive). I will give you a few for some select armies, including some great ones for convering cool IG (trenchcoats anyone?). If you can tell me what armies you are particularly interested in, I will do some hunted from my bookmarks when I get back from this work weekend.

Tin Dictator has some variety, mostly good for IG or Space Marines, and possibly Chaos cultists and Necrons. Sadly its all in frames so you will have to hunt the links as I direct you.

Click on EM-4 miniatures.

Now click Combat Zone Metal Miniatures.

There you will find passable IG, Marines, cultists, and Necrons.

They also have some great cheap plastic kits for IG or Space Marines ( $1 a mini! with options! ). Click the link for Combat Zone Plastic Kits.

And some terribly old looking ones under the Space Lords link (think Rogue Trader days).

Pig Iron Productions does some great models for IG players. They offer a wide selection of heads to do minor conversions for a lot of variety in your squads. They also off trench coat wearing troops way cheaper than ForgeWorld. No more converting from greenstuff!
they come to 14 GBP for 10 models. The Heavy Infantry would make some nice sleeker-looking Marines too.

Click the link for Gallery for some visuals, and the link on How to Order for a full product listing.

Reaper has also just started a line that promises a lot of sci-fi minis. Check out their promo for it here.

Hope that helps some! Ill find more next week. Let me know your specific army requests.
