I used to play Eldar and was looking at my old codex and want to get back into them. I thought the Saim-hann wildriders looked really cool. Does anyone have any tips about collecting them or playing them?

I used to collect saim-hann but then switched to vanilla because they are really hard to use dont use them if you are starting off like i did you will absolutely get walloped especially in 40k in 40mins games (ahhhh bad thoughts). But if you are going to use them you have to pick your army carefully and to tell you the truth the wildriders arent really all there cracked up to be so if your gunna play a big game battle fill up on mainly vypers and shining spears and dont get jetbikes cause they absolutely suck!!

Would you say they are harder than dark eldar, because everyone said they'd be really hard to play but I seem to be doing just great!

Oh, and the new eldar codex should be coming out this year according to roumors so jetbikes should get a whole lot better, or at least cheaper but if your starting saim hann, don't stock up on jetbikes, those models are bound to change as they are aging but those vypers still look good, they might just come with some more weapons options but I don't think much else will change so if you want to start now, I'd get a couple of vypers and convert a wild rider chief or a farseer on jetbike. (Use the specialist games farseer, he can be converted to be on a bike very well).

yes Saim Hann are harder than DE, they also depend on your ability to be tricksey (to quote Gollum), most people play against a regular set of opponents, in such en environment Saim hann will very rapidly start to struggle as misdirection and deception will be less effective as your opponents become used to them. My Saim Hann get dusted off about 4-8 times a year and very rarely agains the same opponent, in that envuironemnt, plus I am what you might describe as a vet, having played eldar since they first brought out RT, 20+ years ago, I have a high degree of sucess (the best result against me in the last 3 years was a draw and then my opposition was playign with more points than me) but I am sure if I used them exclusively their sucess would plummet
