Scout sergeant WIP

Gday all. For some weird reason I have tried to make the head on the new plastic scout look good. Now I know the box art shows them with jaws that could sink the Titanic, but I think I have managed to pull off some decent shading.
I haven't finished highlighting the gun or the grenade. The boots are waiting on construction of a decent base, and the powersword is going to get the blue lightning treatment.
What do you think of the rest of it? C&C please.

Looks really good, What chapter out of curiousity? Looks almost like Dark Angels if it weren't for the red (orange?) shoulder pad..
Now, this is funny. I was going to post my WiP scout sergant tonight and here you are...
He he he,
jaws that could sink the Titanic
I know what you mean. In Sweden we call them "hero-jaws". I've cut most of them down and put GS hoods on the models. I noticed however that from three jaws you can model a Ratling;)

I relly like what you've done to the hair. I thought there was something wrong with my model at first as they have funny little hats instead of hair...then I realised that t it was their hair.
The red shoulderpad looks good but the hard edge on the black is a little to hard for my liking. I have also gone for a more "earthish" palette, the green you've used is a bit bright. But this is all personal liking kind of things. Your paintjob is nice and clean with some really nice details such as the holster-strap for example.
Keep the pictures coming.

Thanks for the swift replies gents.

Urbanknight, it is a DIY chapter called the Red Rangers, they have red armour with black down the left hand side. With the scouts the body is black also, because they tend to try not to stand out too much...

Andusciassus, post your up too, and I will look for the thread! The flash on my camera has taken out some of the shading I didi on the black, though I have overdone it on the black shoulderpad. I should have kept the highlighta to the top and corners. I kept the green bright intentionally, as the last metal ones I did over a black undercoat, and they seem pretty featureless with such dark green. As long as it isn't mistaken for a Christmas marine its ok...

Thanks guys, keep it coming!

I like it! Very well painted an highlighted. A very cool scheme as well (not too keen on the Chapter name though.. The word 'Ranger' sounds too Imperial Guard'ish for my taste).
What's up with his feet?
 Sweet!

Bluetac! I haven't decided on how he will be based yet, so he is bluetac'ed to the base, and the boots will be painted last.
Hmm, usually people go with Power Rangers rather then Imperial Guard  . I am still considering options...

Heh, I more associate Power Rangers with Eldar for some reason (to the point where I'm planning on basing my Brood Lord (looks like a power rangers villian as it is) standing on a pile of Eldar Guardians painted in the "traditional" Power Ranger schema... hehehe... :)

I really like what you've done with the scout. I've got a space marine friend who's pretty dissatisfied with the current look (and my constant "Use Cadian heads then." counter-suggestion. I'll have to show him your work. :) )
