I have noticed that some people say that for certain armies, especially for the SoB, that they are a bigger challenge to fight with, as opposed to the ease of playing, let´s say, Necrons.

In my opinion, there is an initial problem of unbalance. That given the same theoretical level of expertise from the players, an army of SoB against almost any other, is doomed to fail (given the same level of expertise of the players!). Because I think the SoB army list is particularly lacking on everything. As someone noted down somewhere else, SoB do not have (by far) the firepower that the IG, not even the firepower Space Marines have! But neither they are a assault army, so, what are they?

When you say that to play SoB you need to be very skilled in tactics, you recognize that it is a weaker army and that you have to compensate the weakness of the army list by adding your skills as a tabletop tactician!

There is always the "luck" factor but ebven "luck"/randomness is defeated in the long range by statistics, so probably "luck" is going to be less a factor in big games.

They really need an update on their army, this new codex that is about to appear.

Lol, Necrons? Easy to play, hmmm maybe, (beardy most certanly :p ) but the space marines have got to be the easiest (no offence Utrawimps! ;) ). Yes the sisters are an unbalanced army, I agree with you on that, I also think that the sob are well out-dated comparred to the other armies, and they have fallen behind since the third edition of 40K on their stats. Playing the sob back in second edition and they had a great chance against any army, why? Because almost every army was fairly balanced in stats with each other, thats how the sob have fallen behind. They have been pushed into the shadows mainly because they are not a ‘popular’ army, and because concentration has been placed on the recent invested armies such as Tau and the Necrons. There were plans to “re-event the sisters ages ago but then Inqusitor came out the sisters where pushed further into the shadows. And yes to succeed with the sob you need to have a tactical mind and the element of luck because the sisters ARE a weaker army WITHOUT it. But generally if you have that state of mind able to play the sisters and use them well then it should be 50/50.

But I agree with you Diablo, the sisters need a lot of work and I doubt very much that this update within the witch hunters codex will even bring them into 3rd edition equal standard. The sisters will always be an army of the shadows!
