Some fluff:"Hive Fleet Vicarius is a splinter fleet of hive fleet Leviathan, and is attacking ‘up’ the galactic plane. Although it is relatively small in size, its creatures seem to be highly evolved, able to take out anything twice their size.

They have already taken two worlds: Karmanas, a bitter cold ice planet, and the other, Amabonius, a jungle and desert planet, teeming with life, defended by a Tau expeditionary force.

There are reports that they have engaged the orks of the Overfiend of Octarius, and have also destroyed a raiding force of the Eldar Craftworld Iyanden that landed on Karmanas seeking to try and halt the splinter fleet.

They seem to be thriving on the ork life, as is shown by the new, tougher genestealers, stronger and faster warriors and Scythegaunts, and have developed a new breed of hive tyrant, that can lay down a withering hail of fire to tanks, infantry and monsters alike.

On a frozen ice planet, the tyranid clashed with the metal warriors, the necron, and were defeated. But now a new, improved force has amassed, aiming for Tarphonis Alpha, a lush snow world, with magnificent ruins and great forests of Gekal trees, which can survive under the harsh conditions. This force has so far destroyed a Slaneeshi terminater company, and an army of Slaneeshi noise marines, who had landed on one of Tarphonis Alpha's moons. A fierce battle is raging on Tarphonis Alpha against the Space Wolves and Imperial Guard, but already Hive Fleet Vicarius is turning towards some new targets; anyone that stands in their way.

The splinter fleet has evolved to be extremely camouflaged in the snow and ice, being shades of grey and blue, as these are the types of worlds and terrain that the fleet has encountered most enemies on thus far. The fleet also prefers this type of terrain, as the conditions give great disadvantages to their enemies, while not hindering the Hive Mind in any way. They creatures also have brilliant yellow markings over their grey carapace, which works like the zebra effect, effectively blinding the enemy as they struggle to distinguish between seperate targets in the brilliant swirl of colours.

There seems to be a concentration of all types of races fighting each other, near the Eastern edge of Ultima Segmentum, and the tyranid look greedily upon them, and have already begun to engage another fleet of Tau, while the Eldar, joined by some of the mysterious Harlequin, seek to halt the Fleet. It looks like a big struggle for Splinter Fleet Vicarius, but the Hive Mind always requires food, no matter what..."

you now can only have one psychich power on a tyrant. Also, the tyrant would be better with scytheing talons instead of devourers, so you can engage the enemy with some strength

Elites

(3 infantry) @ 132pts
3 Scythe-fiends (warriors)-Adrenal glands I and WS, Toxin sacs, extended carapace, leaping, rending claws, scything talons, symbiote rippers, synapse creatures
good
(3 infantry) @ 118pts
3 huntsman (warriors)-enhanced senses, extended carapace, 2x deathspitter, 3x scything talons, 1x venom cannon, toxin sacs, synapse creatures
very good

Troops

(7 infantry) @ 140pts
7 genestealers with extended carapace, brood telepathy, fleet of claw

(7 infantry) @ 140pts
7 genestealers with extended carapace, brood telepathy, fleet of claw
nice
(18 beasts) @ 266pts
18 slashergaunts (hormagaunts)-adrenal glands I and WS, toxin sacs, leaping, scything talons
get the glands of off them, it just gives your opponent more victory points
(22 infantry) @ 110pts
22 spinegaunts-spinefists, fleet of claw
good
(4 swarms) @ 40pts
4 ripper swarms-fearless, swarms
I dont like swarms, I don't see what they are doing inyour army

Heavy Support

(1 monstrous creature) @ 176pts
Hyper fex (Carnifex)-Adrenal gland I, enhanced senses, implant attack, toxin sacs, scything talons, venom cannon, bonded exoskeleton (T)
he does not need glands if he is going to shoot.
(2 infantry) @ 125pts
2 zoanthropes-2x warp blast, 1x psychic scream, 1x catalyst
synapse would be better

Good list, awesome fluff, most of your guys look good, but you need some more assault, I say with the extra points I have suggested, make 2 units of 16. Also do not make your people more expensive when they dont need it. Good luck
First of, your Tyrant is legal, as you can have one psychic power in addition to the Horror and Synapse, which the Tyrant comes with to start with.
Secondly both your Tyrant and your Fex are a bit messy, they should either be configured for CC or shooting, with the mix you have on them now you will be wasting a lot of points.

I'd split either the Spinegaunt or Hormagaunt unit in 2, probably the spinegaunts to allow for a more flexible gaunt shield.

Your genestealers are in units of 7, which seems a bit weird seeing as even numbers are better.
With 7 stealers the enemy has to kill 4 stealers to make the unit below half strenght, with 8 he has to kill 5 stealers, thus making your units more able to hold table quarters and score victory points.

Your CC warriors have symbiote rippers.. why? seeing as how they're synapse creatures they will usually be assaulting the same things as your gaunts, and even if they assault a unit on their own, they should be able to tear it apart. The toxin sacs are a bit pointless as they dont help with rending.
As for your shooty warriors, giving them rending claws instead of scything talons makes them a lot more dangerous in CC, and if you trim your other warriors, you should easily be able to afford it.

I dont think your zoanthropes need synapse, you already have 3 synapse units, all of them pretty hard to kill off.

Generally a solid list, but a few tweaks would help.

I quite like it having my tyrant and fex flexible, as they normally shoot up some stuff and then get into combat, and they have been part of my third wave which just ensures the enemy is surely dead. I haven't played with this exact army yet, and the other day I looked at the list and decided to add the psychic scream when I was looking through my codex. I might split up the spinegaunt squads, to have more units. I'll tell you my strategy, and you'll see how it all works together.

I have two solid bases of units that do different things. The first is my slow guys, and they hold the middle, and this includes my tyrant, fex, zoanthropes, shooty warriors and one unit of genes follow up behind, with the spinegaunts right at the front to look nice and juicy. The other attack force is the flank attack, that all sticks together on one flank, depending on which one has the best cover, and just sweep right through the enemies side. This includes the rippers, hormagaunts, leaping warriors and the second unit of genestealers. They try not to get shot up, and draw as little attention as possible, while sweeping through the enemy lines. I have the strong hormagaunts so nothing can stand against them, and the symbiote rippers on my warriors because it just helps to outnumber the enemy, and makes sure they run and die. I would give the rending claws to my shooty warriors, but I only get one pair per pack, and I only have enough for my leaping warriors.

So, overall, I'll probably add some genestealers, get rid of the rippers (maybe) and split the spinegaunts into two units. Thanks for your help.

And also, to show that my fex and tyrant do work well, my tyrant normally shoots up a whole squad during a game and maybe takes out a vehicle, and then in turn 4 or 5 he gets to assault. He has killed many a character with the WS and implant attack, as has the fex. And they also look scary and draw a lot of fire. I also play a Iyanden player, and the fex definitely helps with his implant attack and all those wraithlords.
