Well I'm finally getting into Hordes as well. Due to having some extra gift cards lying around from Christmas, I've ordered both Primal and Evolution, now am just waiting for them to come in.

I'll be starting with Circle, and likely be running Baldur and Krueger to start off :).

Woot! Another mod joins the darkside!

Welcome. From the sounds of it, you know which way you want to build up your faction, which is huge.

Let us know if there's anything we can help with.

Baldur is sweet. He's hard-hitting and does really well with crowd-control and all-Construct lists.

Krueger gets a bad rap because practically everyone who uses him runs the 'Krueger Lightning Spam' list. (Krueger, Woldwardens, Shifting Stones, Farrow Bonegrinders)

His backstory suggests he runs with a lot of Tharn and he actually works really effectively in that role as well.

Have you selected the Beasts and units you're going to pruchase as well? Or are you going to collect and get one of everything?

Hrm, since both work well with constructs I'll likely get one of each of the Wolds to start off (Warden, Watcher, Wyrd). Pick up some stones for when Krueger is running the list instead of Baldur for healing. Will also be getting a Warpwolf for the model alone, possibly might be using him with Krueger as well. Druids and Gatormen are also ideas that I might run with.

If I may, I highly recommend the Farrow Bonegrinders. Adding 3" to your spell range is great for anyone, but it's really for Krueger.

I have been reading up on the Circle since my wife picked up about 600 points worth. She's very good at Warmachine with her Khador army so I'd better be on my toes with my Legion when her Circle comes knocking. :)

One thing that impressed me about Oboros cavalry: regardless of how far apart the models are the cavalry unit is always considered to be in formation. This will, unfortunately for me, dovetail with her streak of insanity. :D

The Legion is a lot faster than the Circle, negating one of the Circle's strengths.
The Legion has a lot of flying creatures, negating the terrain-manipulating abilities of the Circle.
The Legion also has a lot of 'Eyeless Sight', which further goes to the second point.

If anything, you two should match up pretty well. (It must be nice to have someone living in the same house as you who's willing to play regularly. I envy you.)

Also, the only real gains the spread out cav get from circle is with morganna, with her rez spell.

And as said, legion has a pretty good counter to most of circles shananigans (besides the darn forked lightning spam, but we can res our beasts if need be, and can simply cut the caster down if need be=)
