Well, I just bought a 500p Dark Elf army and after assembling it, I had enough stuff left to start a small warband for Mordheim aswell, so I googled up their rules(http://www.specialist-games.com/assets/Lustria3.pdf incase you're interested) and made a list themed for close combat. Keep in mind that this is my first attempt at a Mordheim list.

High Born(85gc)
Sword, Shield, Free Dagger
Fellblade(60gc)
Sword, Sword, Free Dagger
Fellblade(60gc)
Sword, Sword, Free Dagger
Beastmaster(55gc)
Spear, Free Dagger
2 Cold One Beasthounds(60gc)

Corsair(45gc)
Spear, Free Dagger
Corsair(45gc)
Spear, Free Dagger
Corsair(45gc)
Sword, Free Dagger
Corsair(45gc)
Sword, Free Dagger

Totals 500gc, 10 Models.

EDIT: As per the recommendation of Cenyu from the #DnetChat IRC chat, I've dropped the Dark Elf Blades for regular swords and spent that money on another spearman... though I think I'll go with another swordsman instead because I think they're cooler... that and the fact that I've already got a model to represent him. :>

Interesting idea, them chaps are gonna be ever so slicey in hand-to-hand with their high WS; but aren't you worried you're limiting them by not including any missile weapons in an Elf band?
Well, using the Lustrian rules, Corsairs can't have repeater crossbows(my only missile weapon) so I would need to get a hold of alteast another model namely a Shade and give him one which comes to 65gc which seems a bit too expensive for me.

meh...

i'd suggest using the experimental Druiichi/Dark Elf warband on Mordheimer.com

it's better balanced (more appropriate) than the Lustria one (what gets overpowered really fast from what all the chatter suggests)

I was wondering - i am new to mordheim and i cannot find mordheimer.com in order to get this list you speak of here -- anyone know where i can find this list which is allegedly more balanced than the Lustria DE warband?

Also, how balanced are the Shadow warrior warband, the WE warband from strike-to-stun.com, and the lizard warband from icirclegames.com? The reason i am wondering is because i am starting to play this game with my friends soon and i want us to have balanced warbands. It seems strange to me that many of the warbands are unofficial, untested or whatever - seems like this game could benefit from some organization or certralization or something.
