Stripping greenstuff

In my opinion, I would strip the paint first then do the greenstuff. It should take about same amount of effort but you would not have to fiddle around trying to strip the paint from the model with your careful modeled greenstuff on it.

I have never actual experience this scenario myself, so keep in mind this is my personal opinion.
