Hi Swn,

so, the single thing I will comment on would be that there are several places where primer is peeking out from behind the paint. If you were to thin your paints a little using a flow aid, and do multiple layers, I think that it would do a lot for the figure.

You have some good highlighting on the armor scales, the face looks well detailed.

Some basing work would wrap it up well.

Hope this helps.

Well mate the face looks awesome, although a photo from a better angle would prove this to a greater degree.

I aint too sure about his armour mind you seems a little flat, could use some shading and highlighting, but I realise this is a WIP and I'm sure you will get round to that.

Anyway nice looking model so far pal ;Y

I like the High Elf. Good highlighting on the cloak/face/scale mail. I also like the more flat look to him rather then flamboyantly colored High Elves out there. I think it makes him look weathered, like he has seen many years of combat. The scouts are lookin great man cant wait to see the progress on them.

I got back into the hobby last year but I'm still as slow as ever at painting.

Hopefully I'll post regularly on this thread and it'll help push my painting along.
Hey not everyone can be Flash Gordons of painting, I know im not. I think you should just go at your pace. If you start pushing speed the quality of you work will go down. Speed will come the more you paint, and when you get into a groove that consitantly works for you.

I'm waiting for the rest of the fairy squad to turn up in the post. I am busy with exams at the moment but there will be loads of stuff after next week. :)
No worries here I know what its like to be busy.

A bit of news people. First of all, the marines are on hold, perhaps permanently, in exchange for a small Deathwing project.

Anyway, here's A few pics of the fairies.

This guy won a small painting comp at my local GW recently:

Caradryan conversion. On reflection the phoenix armoured metal noble would have been more suitable.

Blue tacked white lion Korhil doppelganger.

That's all for now.
