the animus vitae

how should this be represented on a model. The animus part suggests that it is a helmet type thing, but how can you have an exploding barbed wire helmet.

GW are a bit useless, I mean, why make the rules to a bit of wargear if you are not even going to give an example of what it is.

Or is this just giving us a creative pass to go to twon on these bad boys?

Its a "small sphere of barbed wire", that can explode outwards. My interpretation of it is a grenade like device, that forms into a barbed wire net when it explodes.

Look closly at this picture of my arcon. Look at the device that hangs behind his plasma grenades under his left elbows, that is my animus vitae. Its more of a coul than a sphere, but who saya that all animus vitae look alike?

yea it does look good, except that thing on his left shoulder, is that a splinter pistol, cause it has to be embended in the helmet to be carried with a punisher. As for animus vitae, I think it also has to be melted into the helmet. I made mine as a gem in the middle of the helmet, I used eldar farseer for the conversion, gave him a punisher and tormentor helm. As for Vitae, I took 3 transparent plastic cords and made 3 cyrcles out of them. I put em around the archon so they meet in front and behind the model. Looks amazing, just like the archon units in Starcraft broodwars and its fairly easy to make, the only hard part is making a perfect cyrcle out of the wire. If you want to know more, ask

It is fair´ly easy to make. You take the body from a warrior, the forearms, punisher and tormentor "helm" from an incubus, grenades and other gadgets from the eldar guardian sprue, the cape from a WHFB chaos aspiring champion, and finally you just slap on any head you like. You could use one of those helmetless heads from the guardian sprue, but I just used the ponytailed head from the DE warrior sprue and cut away the ponytail to make him bald.

I really dislike the concept of guns in the helmet, a predator style shoulder mounted gun would be way better at absorbing the recoil, and it looks way cooler than a helmet IMO. I have had no wysiwyg complaints ever.

Where does it say that the vitae needs to be in th helmet?

the 'animus' part means helmet. The culexus assassin has an animus something or other ( i can't remember) and that is his helmet.

but nothing says it has to be a helmet.

btw. that was a good idea about taking the tormenter helms gun and putting it on his shoulder (Y)
