Hi

This is my project page for the Tale of X Gamers: http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/projects/214032-tale-x-gamers.html

I have chosen Chaos Space Marines as my army, as there is nothing better than being a super-human, power hungry traitor! :mean:

My army colour scheme will be that of the Iron Warriors. So far, I plan to use more mechanical feautures for my Iron Warriors, such as parts from the Iron Hands and trying to avoid demonic and mutations looks for the troops, but will have to see how it turns out. I will also be adding some extra details to vehicles, to try and make it more... er... Iron Warrior style.

So far I am still busy assembling models, therefore I will post the first model to be painted starting from the first of September - watch this space. :skeleton:

Below is the army composition that I will be collecting and painting for the ToXG series.

Right, first lady for a shave is my Defiler (que dramatic music) The Forger of Death!

I am leaving the 'head' without a mask on purpose, as it gives it a more 'robotic' look.

I have also added extra 'hull plates' made from plasticard, as well as some more rivets, made from cutting plastic rod. The Defiler will be my experimental model for the metallic and chevron look I want to obtain for the rest of the army.

Let the corruption begin! :messed:

Looks good - iron warriors are one of those iconic colour schemes that deep down everyone wants to have a go at. Good luck fellow taler!
"For the empe"....o wait the OTHER kind of space marines..
"DEATH to the false emperor!"
ahem.

Iron warriors, you love them or you hate them, and I love them. that Defiler looks awesome (that head without mask is much more awesome, though less daemonic).
good luck with the ToxG :)

agreed the defilier looks a lot better without a mask.
Thanks! However, it depends what type of defiler you want to make at the end of the day - if I made a Word Bearer theme - I would definitely add a mask, maybe even something from another spruce.

OK, finished painting the Forger of Death! I must say, I had fun painting this beast - I am very satisfied with how he came out, especially the metal, chevrons and gold (I tried a different way of how I usually paint gold). The rivets are not that predominant once a colour scheme is applied, but hopefully it will trigger someone looking at the model to notice something is different. :)

Will start assembling my next model, which will be Sidero.

Nice beasty you got there :). Go IW:-D looks chaotic but without going all "deamonic", it keeps the whole mechanical feeling
Lovely paint job on a mean looking Defiler. You've put my Dreads to shame. Have a bit of rep.
Agreed, turned out very well. The onlynegative thing I can say is that the Weathering on the Hazard stripes looks a little over done, if you catch my drift, it well done but maybe a little too thick? Anyways, didnt want to post without giving you something to improve :p

Rep for a fantastic job!
Wow, that defiler is excellent, nice way to start your ToXG journey, you will have a very nice looking army if you keep this standard going ;)

Appreciate the feedback. I'll see if I can either town it down next time, or try and make it more realistic. :)

Thanks, it can be a bit of a pain sometimes when it feels like the painting is going nowwhere, but the end result is so worth it!
