I wanted to know what people think is the best 1000 point ?

I think this is mine, or the list I have been most successful with:

Noble- alter, light armor, great weapon, hail of doom, helm of hunt - 156
Branchwraith- lvl.1, cluster of radiance 140

10 Glade Guard- 120
8 Dryad- 96
5 glade Riders- 120

8 Wardancers - 144
6 Wild Riders, musician, banner bearer - 174

Great Eagle - 50

Total. 1000

My 1000pts "standard" list is a bit more shooty...

Noble 158
{Alter; Light Armour; Shield; Great Weapon; Hail of Doom; Helm of the Hunt}

Branchwraith 140
{lvl1; Cluster of Radiance}
--> I sometimes switch this one for a spellsinger with 2 Dispell scrolls, depends on whom im playing.

10x Glade Guard 120
10x Glade Guard 120
10x Glade Guard 120
8x Dryads 96
8x Dryads 96

8x Wardancers 144

This adds up to a total of 998pts

I do have a lot of variants on this list, I tend to choose a different list if I think that's is required. But I think the best list to start out with as a new comer should include more Glade Riders...

Mines quite a lot like TheGuiding's:
Alter Noble
Spellsinger LvL 2
10x Glade guard
10 x Glade guard
8 x dryads
8 x dryads
7 x wardancers
6 x wild riders

Personally i always use an alter, but the only thing im not completely sure about my list is the wild riders. With the introduction of so many Immune to Physcology (spelling?) armies they fail to occasionally pack a real punch. However, against certain armies they can be very strong, and are also a pretty decent hammer. This said, I normally never leave without them, as they are a great and relatively cheap hammer, and always seem to make up their points. I put my dryads behind GG, allowing my archers to pelt the foe, flee, then leave the dryads to attack them next turn.

Also, I agree with TheGuiding about including cavalry, but personally I'd say either GR or WR are great! They both add a bit of speed to the list, and WR make a great hammer (or anvil) along with the alter noble!

My own looks like this:
Noble - Alter Kin, HoDA, HotH, LA, SH, GW

Branch Wraith - Netlings, Radients

Glade Guard x10

Dryads x8 - Branch Nymph

Dryads x8

War Dancers x7

Wild Riders x6 - Musician

Way Watchers x5

I have another variant that uses a treeman.

I don't think there is a "best" list. I have played many, and all are good in there own way. All the lists so far look like very well balanced lists that could go against anyone, and a nice variety also.
