As the title suggests. I'll start; recently i've started listening to stuff like skindred and rise against, but i also like bands such as system of a down and trivium.

Also we can suggest bands that we recommend people listen to, so i'll recommend all of the above bands.

Well...I'm a bit of a Musicals freak really...'Phantom of the Opera' is my all time fave, but I like soft rock and pop a lot too.
I'm into a strange-ish mix.

I'll listen to Metal like Korn, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, but also softer stuff like Matchbox Twenty, Our Lady Peace, Papa Roach... All kinds. Just no Brittany Spears! She should burn in hell! Am I right, men?
I listen to some metal, some korn, some metallica, a bit of adema, a bit of rammstein, a few audioslave songs and a few static-x songs as well. However, Linkin Park are my favourite band by miles.

Brittany spears must burn!
im very very much into the bands of the progressive era.

my top 5 at the moment can be made as such

Marillion (the new stuff is pretty good but you just can NOT beat fish as a lead singer)
The Alan Parsons Project (fantastic music in every album and regardless of what people can say to me this guy has not released one bad project!)
YES (always nice to have something lighter in a play list too cheer you up, though even YES has its dark side :p )
Jehtro Tull (best lyrics EVER, ian anderson is a genius!)
Pink Floyd (what else can i say? its pink floyd!)
Personally i like all sorts of music, from hip hop to rock to world music of all kinds. Couple of albums id recommend anyone to check out (stuff you may not have thought about listening to)

DangerDoom- The Mouse and the Mask (Hip hop) kind of like the Pharcyde, lots of humour (one of the tunes is called Aqua teen hunger force for example) great beats and nice rhymes

Yousson N'Dour- Egypt- (world) An album about Islam? yes, beautiful record from one of the worlds best voices

AC/DC- Back in Black- (Rock) the most famous AC/DC album, probably not the favourite of real Acca Dacca fans but i love it, great tunes

classics the lot of em
I'm into electronica of all kinds, though I'm actually quite a bit broader than that.. It depends entirely on my mood really.

I don't have favourite bands, so I'll tell you what I'm listening to most right now.

Ladytron - Amazing British electronic music, though often a bit samey. It never quite seems to get past 'modern life is about alienated people living disconnected lives,' but when you feel like that, it's great.

The Faint - Not so sure about the newer stuff, but their first two albums are amazing. It's a kind of punk / electronica hybrid, not exactly new right now, but they do it far better than most.

Chicks on Speed - Great band, sort of buying into the whole arty-electronica scene, but I like their style and wierd humour.

The Birthday Massacre - They're from Canada, I believe, and make gorgeously over the top 80s style electronica given a modern twist with guitars and dark subject matter. A bit gawth for me, really, and some their stuff is just downright comical without meaning to be, but other bits are great.

Laibach - A friend just introduced me to them. They were the precursors to Rammstein, and have a lot in common. Some of their old stuff is a bit beyond me, but recently they've gone quite modern and industrial, which I think has been a good move.

Many more, but I won't waste any more space..

There's alot of different kinds of music I like here's just a few different ones.

Freezepop (Synth-Pop/Electronic) - Very good band, songs easily get stuck in your head, further proof that I'm a sucker for a good beat and a female vocalist.

The Aquabats! (some ska, some new wave, some happy punk, lots of fun to listen to) - One of the few bands that never takes anything, especially themselves seriously. Dressed liked superheroes, fighting off record execs and the Powdered Milk Man, the Aquabats are unlike any band I've ever heard.

Public Enemy (Rap/Hip-Hop) - Great beats, excellent lyrics.

Mindless Self Indulgence (Industrial Metal/Electropunk) - Less of a band, more of an audiovisual kick in the junk, MSI features catchy beats, screaming falsettos, humor, explicit lyrics, and intensity and blends it all together. What seems totally insane and utterly random is actually planned out and works quite well.

Primus (Rock) - Incredible bass, great lyrics, able to totally rock out. I love this band.

Nope. I'll check it out.

Edit: Nah, I like NIN's version better.
Usually it's between Metal (Heavy, Power, sometimes Death) and some Goth music (most often Inkubus Sukkubus, closely followed by Evanescence and Nightwish).
Though I often listen to bits from other genres.
Music genres I listen to?

hmmm....I listen to a lot of classic rock (the Doors, Pink Floyd, the Who) but I also have some alternative (Green Day) and a lot of techno (Gorillaz FTW!!!!)
METAL ALL THE WAY!!!!! I listen to as much metal as I can. As well as hardcore, metalcore, death, goth, black, power and battle metal.:w00t:

Devildriver, Black Label Society, Down and System of a Down.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.
biohazard, type o negative, life of agony, rammstein, berzerker, killswitch engage, american head charge, dead kennedys.... that's the normal stuff, + some Lee "Scratch" Perry

Other bands I like are more in the indie/alt region, such as The Libertines, Babyshambles, Franz Ferdinand, Weezer, Gorillaz, Belle & Sebastian, Melodious Owl, The Plastic Constellations, Smashing Pumpkins, Interpol...

In addition I listen to a fair amount of classic stuff like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Steely Dan, Elton John, Santana, The Band, The Doobie Brothers...
Mostly rock...

The Strokes, Oasis, Jet, The Vines, The Beatles, The Eagles, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Talent, Foo Fighters, Sam Roberts, The Cure, The Barenaked Ladies, Sloan, The Darkness, The Hives, The Beach Boys, Nirvanna, The Monkees, Aqua Lung, Gold Finger, Phantom Planet, ColdPlay, Franz Ferdinand, James Blunt, Pink Flyod, Zed Zeppelin, Elton John, Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kiss and Metric.

Anything from the 1970's-80's from cheesy pop to rock (well not quite anything) plus anything on a Tarintino album. I also found a bit of Classical music goes well with the old ultra violence of wargaming, O'Fortuna, Montagues and Capulets etc.
