I'm just wondering what you guys like most about this hobby.
I don't know if this poll has been created yet, and if so I apologize for doing it again.

There is a thread about this, look about halfway down this page, but that doesn't have a poll so I think I'll just leave this one on :) .

I voted building the models, to me converting the models is the best part of the hobby I think, though I also love painting and gaming. I suppose gaming and building are kinda tied for me.

I enjoy making an army. I have army lists for orks, gaurd and dark eldar. I get a kick out of reading your brand new army list and relizing that you missed something. Or there is this one cool unit that you can's fit in the list because your making a defined point value. So you have to figure out what to change. And making list for fun like an that assaulty gaurd army.

I forgot to add what I like in my post. :D
I mainly like building the models and making terrain. Converting is the best part. Though it can be hard sometimes, it's worth it in the end.

TBH I like everything about it, the artwork, the fluff, being able to design your own fluff, being able to lose yourself in a huge universe of thought. (Yes, I'm sad =P)

But the option Ive picked from the list, is playing the game itself. I just love having a handful of dice and rolling them all, just great ^_^

My favorite part of the hobby is playing the game, because its like chess but the pieces kill each other. other than that building and converting models is the most fun to me.

I voted collecting since i think it encompasses all the things i like about this hobby: Painting the army, converting it, fluffing it and of course playing it.

Well, I like the fluff best but I voted painting since having a great looking army is the most important thing for me. I love painting my minis.

Yeah painting is pretty good but when you go to GW on the same day you paint a model that you think is really good you see the fancy GW ones and you relize how horrible you are. <_<

To me its playing the game. Playing the game is the culmination of building the models, painting them, than building your army for battle. the battles are where you can shoe off your work and have fun at the sme time. I love nothing more then getting a compliment on my work from my opponent. Its starts the report with your opponent so the game will be more enjoyable.

If I could I would vote once for every one of them... except for building the army........ that's the part that costs...
Everything else I love... like the playing better than everything else.. so I voted for that.

I guess collecting the army is it for me, I don't know its just saying that you own your own army and are prepareing to go on a crusade against the mutants at Hive world of DiagnusII all you need are a few more Redemptionists, to your psychologist gives you great results. :D

My absolutely most favorite thing is to play battles based on actual historic battles.
Battles like the battle for Dunquirke, battle for the bulge, operation Barbarossa.
The siege of Sevastopol, stalingrad, guadalcanal, battle for the aluets.
My favorite has to be the battles around Khe San airforcebace in the Vietnam war...

How about the battle of Waterloo, that could be an interesting battle too...

Definitely playing the game. I make no bones about it, the fluff is cool, I don't particularly like painting but I do it and do my best (even though I'm bad at it), modeling and terrain making is, well, blah. Playing the game is why I'm in the hobby. I've always been a fan of military tactics.

Yeah that's something I definitly love, I could spend hours pouring over my codices to come up with new variations and ideas, Codex Chaos gives you ALOT of freedom to tailor a force. Its always fun trying to fill out those last few points

Like last night I did up a new army list, after doing squads and what they are armed with ( the weapons actualy on the mini ) you get to really scheme and plot about what wargear is going to be most effective. ( my last two points were to be spent on a single krak grenade but I don't know what they do can someone tell me what page of the rulebook they are on )

But with such a diverse hobby and me not being able to fully commit to one thing it makes it hard to pick a favourite aspect,

I also love fluff ( don't we all )

I actually love all these parts but it all comes down to playing for me.
Buying cool models, putting them together, painitng them, and putting a force to gether so you can have an awesome looking brigade of soldiers. There is just something about having an excellent setup table with two or more awesome looking armies facing off against each other. Then as you win or lose you can develop your story of your army.
