Traits: See but don't be seen, No Mercy No Respite
Points: 2000+ and growing
Founding: Renegade Chapter founded by Chaplain Markus Krevius after the execution of his chief Librarian Aristeples by the inquisition. The inquisition attempted the assination of Krevius but a sacred artifact mutated Krevius into an angel-like humanoid and the inquisitor and his envoy were killed. The chapter's sacred Scrolls were stolen by the inquisition and are now spread throughout the galaxy in the hands of a few different alien races. The chapter is currently on a galaxy wide crusade to recover "The Lost Scrolls" which are said to contain parts of Terra's history before the emperor united humanity. (More fluff to come once I finish writing my codex)

History: Thought to be an offshoot of the Blood Angels chapter but doesn't show any evidence of the Red Thirst. Have an unusually large collection of many ancient Terran artifacts. Not much else is known about this mysterious chapter but they have almost perfected the techniques of Space Marine creation. Initiates have a 92% survival rate and are secretly recruited from planets all around the imperium. This accounts for their heavy use of infantry during battles.

I'll post my full codex in the fluff section later this month. Tell me what you think so far.

Fluff:

Scions of Aquarius
Chapter s home world

The home world of the Scions of Aquarius is the planet of Atlantis. Atlantis is mainly comprised of tropical beaches in which some have their own forests and most important to the chapter, its magnificent oceans. At the two poles of the Atlantis there is artic waters and big snow islands. Not only do the Scions of Aquarius live on this planet, but there are quite a few tribes in which Scions of Aquarius draw their marines from. Most tribe members are excellent swimmers and fierce hunters which would make them great marines. It is said that the Oceans of Atlantis are so deep that there’s almost no core to the planet what so ever. The marine’s bases and fortress’s on this planet are located deep on the ocean floor where it is said that a normal human would die before reaching it due to pressure. This world’s ocean contains some of the imperium’s most needed resources.

Induction
Anyone who wants to be inducted into the Scions Aquarius has to go threw the other Space Marine tests as well as the additional 3:
1. The first thing that they have to do is swim all the way across atlantis within 3 days.
2. To be apart of this chapter they have to be able to ride the chapters enhanced bikes and go threw a course and pass it on their first try.
3. The final test is all the survivors of the first test all chained to the bottom of the ocean and must free themselves.
The final step of them being inducted is that they have their pointer finger on their right hand replaced with a bionic finer to show their allegiance to the Iron hands.

Combat Doctrine
All thought they have a home planet; the chapter spends most of their time in water systems of other planets. Some reasons as to why they set up on other planets is that they’re either looking for something, or planning to attack any enemies of the Imperium on the planet. They will set up small bases underwater and wait for enemies of the Imperium to come into the area and when the enemy least expects it they will come charging out rushing at the enemy. They will even use these bases to get their troops ready for battle on the planet they are on and send them for a strike no matter how far the enemy is away. All though these marines prefer fighting in water regions for advantageous reasons they will still fight battles in cities, grasslands and other places. Devastator squads and other fire-based units will normally try to station them selves in the water or above it as well as hiding themselves well on the beaches read to rain hell on any enemy entering. The Scions of Aquatics are excellent swimmers and can swim 1 mile in 3 minutes, which gives them excellent, hit and run skills when by water. Another tactic these marines will use is hitting the enemy with a hard force, retreating back into the water for a few minutes, then reappearing again for a second go. One of the most common tactics enforced in the chapter is using their specialized water bikes, which can drive in and above water allowing the marines to make fast surgical strikes.

Beliefs
The scions of Aquarius are strong haters of the Tau race. In fact anytime they kill a tau squadron leader they will take one part of it, cut it off and wear it as a trophy. While the cause of this deep hatred is a mystery most believe that it has to do with the tau’s arrogance and greater good teachings. Another reason may be the killing of their greatest warrior of all time Master Glivion. They also believe that they as well as the Iron hands are the chosen chapters of the emperor to bring peace to the imperium and wipe out all enemies. (More beliefs soon)

Machinery
The adeptus mechanics creates specialized vehicles for the scions of aquaris that are specialized for working in and out of water.

Dreadnought: Dreadnoughts of this chapter strike fear into almost all living things. The dreadnoughts of this chapter usually look like a crab or octopus.

Bikes and Speeders: The bikes and speeders for this chapter are equipped for under water purposes as well as above water. While the don’t have wheels they over above the ground.

@ IRONFATHER0

just had an idea for your fluff on your devastator squads... possibly some special kind of backpack for them (flotation device?) so they can essentially be half submerged (half waist down?) and fire from that position. Using water to absorb recoil and would help with your see but dont be seen trait.

just an idea as i know u've been asking for fluff advice
well, here's what i have so far:

Chapter name: Eternal Knights (this one is still in development...i have some minor fluff to accompany it. it's on the verge of corny imho...but it seems rather fitting)
Chapter Badge: n/a yet :/...i'm thinking something real simple, though, because i despise transfers and i dont want to spend bookoos of time on each model free-handing some intricate design on their shoulder pads
Colour Scheme Primary: Chaos Black
Colour Scheme Secondary: Red Gore
Colour Scheme Tertiary: Fortress Grey (i'm starting to think white would do better...but i'm not sure. plus, i hate painting white :x. red gore is hard enough to apply a nice smooth coat...)
Traits: +Take the Fight To Them (-We Stand Alone)
Points: >2000 atm; that is of minis i have assembled. i still have numerous boxes of parts to stick together
Gene Seed Info: i'm thinking something from the imperial fists or another generic chapter....yeah i know, i have no imagination
Founding: havent even thought about this tbh

random experimental fluff: their homeworld is located on the moon of a barren planet, but unfortunately the moon is almost always blocked from sunlight, consequently remaining in near pitch darkness for the majority of its existance.
coincidentally, due to a "flaw" in their geneseed, marines of the Eternal Knights are subject to lifespans considerably longer than average.

so yeah...their homeworld is in "eternal night", and they are "[somewhat] eternal knights".....yeah har har  :shifty:

but i'm not sure if the eternal night planet thing would work because i dont know a whole lot about the science of planetary orbits....and i'm not sure if the long lifespan thing is too far-fetched or not. i want a unique chapter, but i dont want to step on any toes while i'm at it, ya know?

anyway, if it isnt obvious already, i'm thinking of a guerilla-style tactica for my army. i debated taking "See, But Don't Be Seen" as a trait, but i didnt want to take any of the major drawbacks :/ (given i wanted to take TTFTT in the first place...). these guys supposedly live in nearly eternal darkness, so they have to be sneaky ninjas.
but to expand on this idea, i sort of thought about having a tactica that surrounds "terror tactics". like....wearing down the enemy with loads of ordinance fire first, which would be pretty dang scary if you ask me, then making a big bloody assault on the remaining demoralized enemy forces. how's that sound?

having a purely assaulty army would not fit me at all. i like to be flexible...so a good mix between assaulty and shooty would do me well.

so yeah....as you can see, i havent really gotten a whole lot done when it comes to fluff of my custom army. but i'm pretty happy with the paint scheme atm, so i'll continue on with it. i'll continue to ponder fluff ideas as i go.

i envy you guys with all the intricate fluff ;P

not sure if you intended this as a "gimme C&C plz" thread, serpelio, but i would appreciate any help or ideas.

@ironfather0: the fast swimming thing is interesting, but wouldnt that only apply to scouts? how would swimming work in a space marine's power armor?

Well, you asked for some ideas.

Well, a couple of ideas. The Blood Angels are always supposed to have better than usual longevity in their geneseed, and the whole darkness thing works with the 'vampire' fluff. On the other hand, the theme seems more like Night Lords. But then we get into the question of whether the Imperium would use either such 'flawed' geneseed again.

Given that you want to go with a more standard type chapter organization, I'd just suggest one thing.

Take the geneseed from a more generic chapter, but the longevity (at least to my way of thinking) is a sign of superior rather than flawed geneseed. After all, the primarchs were initially created to be near immortal. Maybe when your chapter was created, it was done wih geneseed much nearer to the 'source' ie: the primarch in question than your typical successor chapter. Heh. Maybe they were made using bits o' Dorn. After all, they only ever recovered his hand. :). Or perhaps one of the other primarchs that are presently missing rather than being just simply dead contributed their genetic material to their creation before dissapearing. Just an idea.

Perhaps the lack of destructive radiation due to the eternal eclipse has helped them maintain this level of purity. Shrug. As for a planet's moon always being in eclipse, I suppose it is possible on a very very old planet where tidal effects have slowed the rotation of the moon after millenia. I'm not sure what kind of human life could exist on such a rock(to be the source of your chapters recruits) but they'd probably have to live underground or in sealed domes, and eat a lot of mushrooms! Unless they were of a significant enough tech level to maintain perhaps nuclear or other power plants to grow food.

Chapter name: Pariah
Color Scheme Primary: Black
Color Scheme Secondary: Chainmail/White
Points: nearly 1000 and counting
Symbol: Basicly this, but without the words and circle
Fluff: Only simple and breif atm, but they can be found on outter rims of the planet in a small coloney, with very little. What they have is salvaged from enemies they have decemated earlier. Very small groups which are slowly growing, they are also known as "the outcasts" for their varied and more "non-traditional" beliefs. The very few mechanical units and equipment they have is consider "sacret".

still working on it, sorry about the breifness and lack of detail, im not sure really where to go with it.
when i started with 40k(2 weeks ago) i first tried some colour schemes with indeed dawn of war :)

black/white i liked most, i wanted an CC oriented army. So i went looking, and there was already a chapter who had it and with very cool sprue's so i went for BT's

But i see some of you have realy cool made up chapters, always nice to see such great diversety
Cool well here is mine

Chapter Name: Golden Fury
Symbol: None
Primary Colour Scheme: Boltgun Metal
Secondary Colour Scheme: Skull White, Burnished Gold
Traits: None
Geneseed: Dark Angels (Although they have none of thier rules)
Points: Last i checked in the region of 6000-8000
Founding: Inquistorial records are unsure although it is estimated to have been after the Gothic war, Current Chapter Master is rumored to have been the first marine created in the chapter.

And there you go.
