Ok so here is another argument that i have been having against, well everybody as i have nobody on my side of the argument, i don't know if it is cause i am wrong or if it is just that nobody wants me to get the spell of without having to deal with magic resistance.
the wording for magic resitance is that if a unit is TARGETED by a spell that is being cast you ad up to X number of dice to the dispel attempt.
the wording for the wind of undeath is that once cast it EFFECTS all enemy units on the table on the roll of a 4+
My main argument is that the wind of undeath has no real target, the actual magic is summoning hordes of ghost's to come attack your enemy's therefore an opponents MR wouldn't effect it. Another point for it is that in the dark elve faq wind of undeath and comet of cassondora are lumped together for purposes of the ring of hotek, as neither spell are targeting the unit with the ring of hotek the only way for the ring to effect the spell is if the caster is withing 12'' of the ring when attempting to cast. Well in that line of thought you never get MR when dispelling the comet of cassondora as it dosn't target a unit it targets a spot on the ground, even if the MR3 unit is standing centered right there it dosn't matter. my line of thinking was it is the same the magic is going twoards SUMMONING the giant meteor not twoards the unit so no MR.
the opposing arguments are that the comet effects everything not just enemy units, in order to hurt a unit it has to target it and as it has a chance to effect every unit it targets everyone of them. i tried to argue that it dosn't effect your army because the vampire has placed wards around his units as part of the spell, and that you don't need to target a unit to effect it as shown with artillery and scatter dice.
well there was alot more than just that so i want to hear from everybody out there. what do you guys think.
