(aka. Red120 gives the finger to the Eldar fluff again...)

My comments:
Hey everyone, the next model in my 22nd century militaristic Eldar conversion series, want to show you guys the new idea. Actually, the concept is quite simple.. the Avatar is the embodiment of the essence of war, so the idea "war" should change from society to society. In a society without the fantastical elements, "war" can take the place of a pure military form, where use of pistols is refined as the ultimate technique of combat. Yes, heavy influence from John Woo movies.. and Equilibrium.

Want your ideas to:
1. What mass of scenery can I use to make this look avatar-sized? What would make it look regal enough? Keep in mind my army is based in winter terrain.

2. Is there any other way to add MASS to the avatar? I wanted to have an "angel" embrace him from behind (Nightbringer?) but it always ends up looking like it's sneaking up to kill him.

Nice conversion! Pure Grammaton Cleric! W00TAGE!:w00t:
sweet

That is very very nifty. I can really see the influence from Equilibrium but it's still Eldar. It looks very elegant, which is hard to pull off without movement.
I can't really tell whats on his back.. plz explain whats on his back.. it looks so dam cool tho, i love it..
Really nice and a fantastic idea.
To make the angel look more domesticated, have him look the same direction as the avatar, that should help.
Its a Eldar SNiper Rifle geez
Very cool! Mind telling us what model you used as a base?
Very nice. Perhaps to make him taller and more avatar-like you could put him standing on top of a pile of dead Marines/Guardsmen/Orks?

That would look cool...
Have him balancing on top of a crumbled, wreckage of a statue, something like, say a traditional avatar model (or at least part of one anyway) painted up in granite/marble/sandstone and lichen

Dude that sounds wicked frickin cool red 120 you should definitely from you other work Ive seen you definetely could do it.
On further experimentation.. I found that the angel idea really, really doesn't work. Next to the other models in my army, it just breaks the military theme, too much fantasy in it then.

Currently thinking about the broken avatar idea that mpdscott mentioned, and how to make it work well. 70% will go with this, sounds like a good idea.

Anyone have any other ideas to throw out?
I think it would be cool to have him standing on a dead greater daemon of Slannesh.
Why not use the Inquisitor Eldar ranger as is, or perhaps with the avatar sword and a nifty paintjob? It's already 54mm, or "avatar sized" :)

Because I like converting things, and I've already started this conversion.

Plus, it's just neat to have a normal-sized dude who kicks the asses of like, fifty dudes. If the dude's huge, it's not as impressive. C'mon, you've watched John Woo & Chow Yun Fat, right?
Plus, with the statue of the avatar as part of the base, it gives it a pretty clear link to it's avatar-hood, which should satisfy pretty much anyone who plays against it
