X3

Not sure if I should post this here or in the review section, so if I've chosen poorly, please move it. :)

Anyway, I've noticed from the morrowind threads that a lot of you like open ended gaming, and I was wondering if any of you have played X3: Reuinion. I liked X2 when it came out, so I bought myself a copy..

It's very similar to the previous game (i.e. Elite style open ended space trading sim) with a lot of the same flaws, but somehow it just feels much better. Even the pace seems to have improved.. I've not been playing that long and I've nearly finished building my first factory loop. The reputation system is really good too.. before there was really no point in M4 class ships except as escorts and cheap defence. Now you really have to suck up to one of the races to get M3s, which means that for most of the early game you're flying around in a flimsy piece of junk which can be wiped out with a few well placed plasma shots. Much more exciting!

So yeah, if you like games which aren't all action, though there is a generous helping of laser blasting dogfights thrown in, and you have an inner capitalist who likes the idea of exploiting the economy for every credit you can get, maybe try this game.
