I'm not sure if im posting this in the right place, so tell me if im not.
Ive always found it wierd how lasguns are the same as autoguns, so i was wondering if these rules would be ballanced, but still make the two different.
Lasguns would be changed to assualt 1
Lasguns seem like a rifle to me, not a machinegun. The thing that makes the lasgun fair is that although they can move and shoot, they cant use their heavy weapons, and (obviously) can't rapid fire.
Autoguns would be the same as before because those rules seem to fit

Does anyone have any comments/suggestions/etc you could point out?

The autogun has several modes if I recall, single shot, burst and full auto, fluff wise. The stats of the weapon are largely irrelevant concerning how many times it shoots because the amount of fire put out by an autogun is minimal in terms of accuracy to the lasgun.

They both are the same strength in terms of killing power, so why bother to make the difference? In game terms its a lot better to use the current Lasgun profile as an RF weapon.

A note to the effect that you should never henceforth post these kind of copied and pasted stats from the Codexes, it is against our rules concerning copyright.

alright you cant compare autocannon and lascannon. See the Lascannon is anti tank. Autocannon is anti transport. Now a Lascannon can sure take out a transport but autocannon cans really deal with armor 14. So they have to different roles for you to compare whihc is better.

*Sigh*.

Lasguns and Autoguns are not the same as Lascannon and Autocannon, Orestes.

Psyco, you posted the stats for the lasgun only changing the Rapid Fire to Assault 1. Follow the rules in the future or feel mine power waxeth upon thee full mightily.

^_^ dont you hate when you you just read the front of the word and assume its the thing you thought it was. Well anyway what is a autogun?

Yep. Technically due to their cells recharging in light/heat/ etc, they have an unlimited supply of ammo so long as it works. The autogun is the 40k equivalent of the carbine, but has a finite supply of ammunition.

hey, anyone got the book that came with the old 40k starter boxed set??
it has loads of gun info (loads that were taken out for the newer rules) like this gun that fires a web to imobilise its target etc

And the riot shield...that's a real low armour save in CC. Hint: it's like termy armour in CC, but without the inv. Sv. GW and copyright BS (not ballistic skill) safe.

In the computer game fire warrior the Autogun is alot more powerful then a Lasgun, the Autogun can kill a gaurdsmen with a single shot. The autogun is used by the less advanced worlds in the warhammer universe but some advanced societies still employ it.
The lasgun is used more because it is cheaper, much more reliable and easy to reproduce.

The game would be good if you had no idea of what WH40K was and didn't plan to play it. If you mix the two, however, confusion leads to anger.
