Wow, you put Gw to shame, they have professions that use like special tools and whatnot, your at home making this by a concept doing and scratch built. Good luck man.

I've been thinking about the weapon... I've seen a few gargants with the chain-belt fed approach, but I think I might try something different. I'm thinking of a sort of giant revolver mechanism at the moment where there's five chambers and each time it fires off a round it rotates into position for a grot to load another shell into the open space.

Of course, that idea doesn't work well with the two barrel design on the illustration.

I played around and came up with a mock-up of what I was thinking of for the revolver approach, but it ended up looking a lot like an imperial guard nade launcher... and I really think this thing needs more than one gun on it's arm, but I'm not sure how to revise it. The revolver design doesn't work that well with two barrels, though. Maybe I should have a large revolver barrel and a small minigun / gattling gun mounted below it? Like a big big shoota?

couldn't you have the second "barrel" as the location of a grot that tells the others when the BIG gun is on target?, have him stuffed into a bit of pipe with a pair of binoculars or something?
but as for a revolver style gun, it might work, but you'd have to have a look at lots of revolvers to find a style that you think suits

maybe if you want it twin linked and keep the revolver magazine turn one upside down and attach it to the other one

don´t know if it helps but it might work

and a giganticgreatsupermegagoodproject:w00t:

I found this, Link, so if maybe we can't help, these guys can give you some ideas.

I hope this helps.

Awsome!

About that gun, what about something like this?

It's similar to your original design but with double pipes and doubl mags makes it a lot more shooty. The mags on the front-pic is a bit wrong, but you get my point (hard to do illustrations like that in MS Paint, but Paint owns undenieably).

And I will leave the detail-doing to you (like the bands on the pipe and such).

OMG

do hope your gonna enter that thing into golden deamon, when its finished of course

How about placing the barrels one on top of the other, the bottom barrel being barrel loaded and thet op barrel just being a simple top loading weapon with a magazine of roads jutting out from the top of the gun.

Why would a grot be piloting a stompa? Wouldnt it be more convienient to have a warboss
drive one? Lol so much responsibility for the poor little dude. He might smash his own
friends and go Ooops!

Yes very well done, props man. Would like to see it painted.

I'll echo everyone's amazement - thanks for sharing your Stompa with us! Saw the thread on PA as well...

jamsessionein, out of curiousity, what application are you using to render the 3d graphics?

Google Sketchup. It's google's 3d application, and it's the easiest thing I've ever used in my life. It takes tops 5 minutes to do one of those drawings.
