Agreed, somebody definately brought Sanguinius off that barge...Although I think it's safe to say the BA would be better off if that person hadn't;)

Well, that's where they got the geneseed that was corrupted and gave them the Black Rage and the Red Thirst, so we wouldn't have the interesting BA we know and love(?) today.

I think what we gota remember is that...tis been 10,000 years.....whos to say that the emperor hasn't grown tremendously in power. its just the fact that hes pretty much just alive if you will that the power isn't visible....and this theory that he would go insane....i cant see any justification of that....Consider Tigurius, hes seen the hive mind where lesser individuals have been driven mad by the mere shadow of it.....i highly doubt the emperor would go insane...i really really do.

And yes, i do believe that somebody took Sanguinius's body from the barge...cause otha wise...we wouldn't have the BA as we know them today.

I dont necessarily believe you have to have the primarch to continue making the geneseed. Wasnt Ferrus Manus killed on the Istaavan betrayal? If he was clearly the chapters can continue to reproduce regardless of if the primarch is there or not. Take for example in the 40K universe today..Dorn is supposedly dead..no body to recover (except hand) but the chapter continues....Jaghanti Kahn is gone also no body but the chapter and successor chapters continue. The same can be said about leman russ, Lion el johnson (kind of) and Corax.

If we go by the train of thought that the chapters continue to harvest the geneseed of the primarchs "bodies" that are in stasis then why is the geneseed so important for them to recover if they can just go get more from there primarchs? I think with Sangi. his death was etched onto his very genetic code so that all blood angles that carried his blood with him were affected and continue to effect their chapter and successor chapters. I think that they are able to duplicate Sangi. blood type so that his blood can run in the veins of the high priests. No where does it say that Dorn ever took his body off the barge. It is not even stated if there was any other survivers other then Dorn him self. If there wasnt any more loyalist survivors then Dorn probably took the emperors body left.

We do know for concrete fact though that the ship remained in chaos' hands. The fact that Abbadon was able to make his way to the bridge of the ship and take the talon of horus for himself proved that there was still a chaos presence on the ship after Dorn left with the Emperors body. We also know that after the battle abbadon recovered the body and the Sons of Horus legion were still venerating the primarch even his death.

I think youve missed the point. the Gene Seed is origonaly taken from the primarch. the existing gene seed is used again and again, also they grow new gene seed.

Some thing happened to the gene seed stores of the blood angels, thus they were forced to quickly make a new batch, with the dead primarchs geneseed as the blue print. Ergo they suffer from the 'black rage'

I thought it was said that the instant he died the psychic feedback affected all of the Blood Angels, rather than the flaw developing over time due to decaying gene-seed.

When sanguinius died the death of something so pure to such a monster (horus) affected the blood angels in unforseen ways it left the potential for the black rage within the gene-seed (I don't know how), but because the blood angels follow unorthadox gene replication it mutated the gene-seed, hence the black rage.

Thats how I interpret it anyway.

Ok, it's difficult to imagine how Sanguinius was killed. No one in all 40k fluff was killed more thoroughly and painfully than he. Horus killed him on every level, physically, mentally, and spiritually. He literally ripped his soul to pieces and threw it to hungry daemons. He used chaos to give Sanguinius the most painful death possible by his means. As Sanguinius' blood boiled and his soul was ripped apart he let out a psychic scream that echoed in the heads of every BA. Henceforth every single individual that has Sanguinius' blood in their veins suffers from images of his death (a.k.a the black rage). You could say that the images and feedback from his death is contained in every drop, in every cell of Sanguinius' blood, blood that runs in the Blood Angel's veins. And the longer you have blood angel blood in your veins (i.e. the longer you go on living as a space marine of the blood angel's chapter with Sanguinius' gene seed) the more chance you have to become susceptible to the black rage. Eventually, every blood angel will experience it, one way or another.

Oh, and according to Inquisitor fluff, the Emperor is already "insane". He seems to have multiple personalities who disagree and speak of their own accord. I can't blame him though, 10,000 years of hearing/feeling thousands of psyker deaths run through him every day... That and trying to maintain his grip on life and to do what he can for his failing Imperium.

Well my understanding is that the Sanguinius's body was carried off of the battle barge by a group of blood angels just before the ship left orbit. Hence how they have an Honour Gaurd.

so Sanguinus's soul is not existant??
what about that dude Mephiston, to whom Sanguinus came in a vision? that was not a warp creature, but pure hallucination then, right?
