I need tactics to beat Bretonnia with Tomb Kings (Khemri)
I have two friends one with tomb kings and one with bretonnia, the bretonnian guy always beats him, they are both begginners but the bretonnian guy can win just by charging..... brets are alot easier to use for begginners than Khemri are, we can all admit to that......but with the right tactics im sure they can win against the cocky might of my bretonnian friend who claims not to be a noob (but is) lol.
PLEASE HELP!
My friend is losing faith in tomb kings..... and starting to think they are crap.....

Let's think...

Bretonnia are good, but if they don't win on the charge, they are toasted.

All your units are unbreakable, so bretonnia should hate you!!!

He should take some big blocks of skellies, so even if he loses combat by 4, he can still kill the knights.

Some anti armour save thingies can be fun too.

Tomb kings are one of the best anti-bretonnia armies, and don't let your front stop with Tomb Kings!! Say him that Tomb Kings need a bit of tactics to win, and he just needs to learn how to play them for some time.

It depends... .... if your friend goes Immune to Psycology, the Tomb King have a problem.

But apart from that it does not require a very special army-selction to beat the Bret. One SSC, 4 Ushabtis and a block of Tomb Guard can kill any knights. Then a block of skeletons to hold up the Bret, to let the Ushabti charge.

Remind your friend that if you have 16 skeletons with a banner, the Bret will have to kill 8 (EIGHT) models on the charge (if he has three ranks, banner and outnumber) in order to wipe out the skeletons on the charge (that is 14.4 attacks with S5 Ws 3 or more, wich is a lot!)

The Tomb Scorpion should also kill a few knights. But the best thing about it is that it can "catch" the lance!

Image of the lance:

xxxxx
xxx
y

the "Y" model is the model who can see. so placing two Scorpions(z) here:

xxxxx
ZxxxZ
y

...the scorpions can NOT be seen by the front model. So they CAN NOT be charged!!!
The Lance-formation will be forced to move backwards to get out of the the "trap". (and you can trap them again next turn :))

Or you can just charge the knights with your scorpions, that thing you suggested looks kind anal to use.
Using tomb scorpions and tomb swarms should be really good to stick those knights in place.
Tomb scorpions are pretty strong, they can kill knights actually.
Say you charge a unit of knights in the flank with a scorpion. You kill like 2 or 1, but you won't die totally from CR, because you have the mechanical -1 wound from CR! That will keep them tied in atleast 2 combat rounds, giving you enough time to charge them with stuff like chariots, cavalry or ushabti, with that movement spell of yours.

I know, but GW itself has printed it in a White Dwarf! So I just thougt I should mention the option!

(and yes, the scorps might be better at killing the unit - Unless there's a Ăśber-character in there...)

This is an excerpt from something I posted in the Tactics section...

I play Tomb Kings and when I play my Bretonian friend, I always take one unit: 4 Ushabti. These guys tear through knights like a tornado tears through towns. My friend is dead scared of these bad boys; he even tries to avoid them.

If I were a Bretonian facing them, I would try my darndest to charge them first--to try and take out a few wounds. But that doesn't always work.

My ushabti got charged by a tooled up 8-knight Bretonian squad with their general, took the hits.........and then butchered the knights. It was beautiful.

If I was your tomb king-playing friend, this is what I would do...
If I were you, I'd go with the unit of 4 Ushabti for 260pts. They're worth it. A tomb scorpion, as others have mentioned, is nice too.

This is what i would do: - Take big blocks of Skellis ( Keep the knights in combat for at least a few round so u can flank them)
- TAKE USHABIES! ( If you have access to them)
- Rember that if you can charge them, then they'r pretty much toast, or at least they'll be kept busy for a long time. Some Of the incantations is a great way to increase your chanses to get the charge.
- Take a T Scorpion, or a couple of T Swarms, just incase he uses a Trebutc....(?) One of thoose big Rock Throwers. If he don't then they can still be useful.
