Ratlings are Humans that come from a low grav world and have stunted growth. (Much as Orgryns are Humans from a High Grav world that make them "big" (Hence the reason Orgryns and Ratlings are not purged as Xenos))

 

Wait, if ratlings came from a low-gravity world, doesnt that mean they would be gigantic? And wouldnt ogryns suffocate because of their bulk on a high-grav world?

 

Ratlings just get squished down by High Grav worlds and Ogryns are much like feral humans, basically throw people on a planet like Catachan but with no technology, so they get really gigantic and kind of dumb..

 

well, the rationale behind ratlings/halflings and squats is the same though.. they were once human colies on these worlds of varying gravities... and thus evolved diff ppl of diff heights.

but is it right for me to use squats as ratlings ? im using dwarf thunderers and adding camp cloaks and space marine scopes to the guns...

Ratlings should be even smaller than squats, since if sqauts=dwarf, ratling=hobbit.
There were some very old ratling models around at the same time as the squats models. and they are much more slightly built than the squats.
Also with a bit less in the beard department
