Counter to Wyverns?

How do players cope with IG wyverns hiding in the backfield? They're such a good counter to most of our things, taking them down can be a real headache. Obviously warp spiders deepstriking would deal with them easily but does anyone have any other ideas based on stuff from the actual DE stable?

I have never came up against them myself but we have alot of units capable of deep strike that could easily deal with it such as void raven, ravager, scourges, razorwing and raider with kabalites inside with anti tank guns. You could also use jet bikes with heat lances and just storm across the board to get in melta range to ensure its screwed.

The maths doesn't stack up well for us trying to pick off vehicles at range in cover. Once you halve the number of successes the quantity of scourges required to reliably deal even with a single wyvern is brutal (9+).

There's the same issue for the reavers. Even a large squad doesn't have enough shots to gain a critical mass and assure the kill, luck is a big factor.

It's more reliable to webway in trueborn and pad the unit out with extra blast pistols. You'd be pushing past 250 points, more if you want the archon to have some good gear, but 6 lances with no scatter has a good chance to cripple a unit of wyverns.

However the most reliable way by far is to either deepstrike or webway in a unit of warp spiders. Their guns shred AV10 with no trouble. Battlefocus and a 12 inch range does help compensate for the deep strike scatter and the possibility to include an Autarch helps them strike early.

But you can deepstrike them and then what are the wyverns gonna do?
The thing is even using math if you can land the first shot then the tank won't win vs haywire. One unit of scourges has the potential to remove one wyvern per turn. Other than this I don't really know how to beat them, cause ravagers still won't be much use now. You could use Heat Scourges which deepstrike in for kill secured, but I'm gonna use my Haywire scourges to beat Wyverns I guess.

If a guard player let you deepstrike near his wyverns, you are already facing a very weak / very distracted opponent, and the game shouldn't be an issue altogether.

PS: As a guard player, i did this mistake ^^"

Archon with Blaster and WWP leading and squad of Fire Dragons in a Venom. That's about as nasty as an AT unit can be.

Still, Haywire Scourges are competitive vs the FDs because of their giant range. I can deploy and move to prevent a deep strike within 12 inches or so, but it's nigh impossible to prevent it within 30 inches.
