Don't know about that. ;)

But I certainly will try! :ninja:

Has anyone else been working on any models lately? I haven't had the chance (money, etc., and trying to start an actual army.. that, and life has been screwing with me) but as soon as I get some cash I'll try for a few Alliance models.

Shepherd Book was once the same as The Operative, and like the Operative, learned of something better. To make some sort of recompense for the pain and hurt that he wouldhave caused, as an Operative, he dedicated his life to improving the 'verse for others.
This explains a lot of things about Book, that can't be explained any other way; his knowledge of weapons (and proficiency), ships, tactics, underworld figures, rare and obscure books, Alliance protocols, his Alliance Identity card, and perhaps most telling, the ways in which an Operative works.
Judging by his age, Shepherd Book was an agent before the Unity Wars, and likely was involved in them, but afterwards he found that the Alliance he believed in, wasn't the Alliance that existed, and so left their service (taking a new identity - who'd suspect a Shepherd?).
If there was ever going to be any kind of explaination, it would have to be in some sort of prequel; but that will never happen.

This seems to be the most obvious and probably best explanation that anyone could come up with. Everything about it really makes sense, from what I can gather.

I'd love to join the clan, I've been a browncoat since the beginning and own all the Firefly episodes and the BDM. I'm actually making a Serenity kill-team (representing an IG kill-team). I've almost got the Mal figure finished (still got to green-stuff the coat), but am having trouble deciding on the gun Jayne should carry. any suggestions will be appreciated.

This is too cool. I just started re-watching Firefly for the 3rd time this week. I searched "Eldar Tanks" and somehow found a link to this thread. I am definitely a fan of the series and have dabbled in trying to scratch-build a Serenity model. The project didn't pan out but I still think its awesome that there's a group for this here.

@Chaplain Rickarus: "Vera" would probably be a bolter since it's a projectile weapon as opposed to laser or "Las". Maybe master-crafted? I'm not too up-to-date on IG so I don't know what options are available.

Anyway, I hope to contribute to this great thread in the future. Keep the show alive (a sort of afterlife I guess)!

Well, this thread hasn't been posted in in quite a while! Hey there powerclaw, welcome to LO and welcome to the Browncoats! We may swap homes to a social group if enough people are around (there's a Browncoats social group but it's relatively inactive, we may need to start a new one). Social groups are a great way to do basically what this forum does, only with much more organization, so we may make the swap here soon.

Glad to have another Browncoat on the forums, though!

Shame it never went on. It's crazy it can be this long after and it still has such a strong cult following. I can still sit down and watch it for the umpteenth time even now.
