Cheers mate:)
That Defiler eats GS indeed. It is quite the opposite of normal sculpting. I mix huge blobs that just isn't enough while the normal is mixing tinytiny bits that are far bigger than needed.
I have some new pics today. There hasn't been all that much visiable progress -most of it are minor details but I have got some close ups of the other lesser daemons and the Rhino. And also some pics of the DeathGuards I'm painting.
Much of teh details on the greens are however quite hard to see in the pics as they appear either to fuzzy bad pics-I know) or that they just blur together in a green 2D-mess.

On the pic below you can see how some smoothing of the GS is needed. Things like this pops up all the time.

IMAG0306 by Andusciassus

And here comes the Lesser Daemons. They are all in various states of unfinished, but they make some progress all the time.
The first one will have a flywing for right arm.

IMAG0303 by Andusciassus

IMAG0301 by Andusciassus

The second one, the pet, will have some more work done on his legs -they'll be like mechanised bone.

IMAG0298 by Andusciassus

The third is the most unfinished of them all. It is quite hard to make out on those pics, but his lungs are hanging from his torso and connected to his gasmask with wiering. Hell get a snakelike body and his arms -well they are in a very sketchy state.

The Defiler is even more sketchy. I'm still working on his pose and cut a big part of his body. It was like pointing straight up and is supposed to be draged behind him. The pic is really crappy too, even by my standards :)

The white Deathguards you've seen before but here's another pic of four of them.

The ForgeWorld DGs are getting painted

Here you can see the cured/dried watereffects on the bone-weapon-hand

And one of the Aspiring Champions

Lastly is the Not-quite-as-lesser-daemon-dude.

IMAG0268 by Andusciassus

The toxic-sac on his back will get some more spacewolfgrey and white to make it stand out a bit more from the rest of the model.

That's it for now. The snow is falling outdoors and I do want to go out and play with the kids. Snowballs -he he >:)

Thanks omgitsduane. At the moment I'm only taking rather quick and crappy pics -due to lack of time and good light. But I'll try to get some close ups later.
And mrBuddah, I am happy to inspre. Glad you like it:)
Kuff -cheers my friend, I am just starting to experiment with watereffects and that tamyan red. Will try to mix in some glue later to make it more cloggy.

Very nice stuff man for sure. The gore looks very realistit, the skin tone ont he chamion is nice and rotten looking.

I am also on a Rhino kick as of late as im working on two of mine own. I cant wait to see some more progress on yours. The green stuff work is greenstuff work is great. A lot of stuff going on but not overdone, and it all makes sense. Rep for sure!

Thanks Kendo.
I try quite hard not to go overboard on the stuff and also to make it somewhat make sense. I'l like to think the "mutations" even on vehicles, do have a role to play. Like a function.
And Omgitsduane -I just realised you can click the IMGnumber below the pic to go to my Flickralbum. The pic there is larger. Not necisarily better -but bigger:)

Ah, no pics het again but I've made some progress non the less. Last night I realised I was pretty much finished with the converting of my deathguards. So nöd I have 18 marines and all of them need just things like weapons, arma and shoulderpads. I am pretty proud of myself. I When took a break from the infantrymodels to Do some more painting inside the landraider. BTW if I appear to write strange things, mixing up languages and such -I'll blame my phone.
Being away from home I cannot Do neither painting nor modelling tonight, hence this rather empty update.

Oh, and if anyone knows whether scratchbuilds are allowed in "armies on parade" or not, I'd be mighty gratefull if you could Tell Me.
Cheers!

with pics this time

So, now I'm actually updating with pics. It's my first squad that is almost finished.
They don't have any champion but field two plasma guns. I expect them to stay at a safe distance claiming objectives and generally do killing stuff.
At the moment there are only six of them that's due to the icon bearer. I'm not 100% sure on what model to use but it might well be one of the Nurgle Apostles from FW.
As I said earlier they are not finished but well on their way.
I have also, with inspiration from MeDee´s cobweb statred to experiment with cotton to make some kind of cloggy blood-thing to use as doors and such on my vehicles. I´ve tried a few different methods and found one fitting my intentions better than the others.
But first -my Deathguard unit (WIP I remind you)

he he he... >_<
as I was going to link my pics I noticed most of them had suffered from crappy uploading, but there's a few models anyway. Sigh.

One of the rank and file Nurgloidmarines.

IMAG0185 by Andusciassus
and another
looks like it's only the bolterwielders that have uploaded so ...

IMAG0186 by Andusciassus
the same model but from another angle.

IMAG0187 by Andusciassus
and again another angle.

IMAG0188 by Andusciassus
This one has an arm from like the zombies or something, the one before him uses a Skaven arm, modified but still...

IMAG0190 by Andusciassus
the right arm will be finished of course. The weapon has only been basecoated.

IMAG0191 by Andusciassus

IMAG0192 by Andusciassus

oh, and finally a bad angle plasmagunner

IMAG0197 by Andusciassus

I'll try to get some better pics up later.

cheers dude :)
I am glad you like the alternative manner I am using. For a while I've been painting smoother stuff, trying to keep a bit more "eavy metal"-style. But painting wasn't quite as fun then as it used to be. Then I stumbeled upon John Blanches cronicle in a Whitedwarf (like a year old) and it really re-opened my eyes.
I thought something like ..."dang! why did I started painting like the others?"
so now I don't care to much for "smooth blending" and such. I just hit it with whatever I find interesting :)

Well Dan, if those models are outdated by the coming codex... well lets just say I'm getting used to it.
Hopefully the basic Deathguards won't change all too much, though I've not been reading the rumour-threads enough to know.
But if they do turn out obselete maybe I could get some of my old models out of their bubblewrap.
Still, I intend to get this army done pretty soon. My mate has a fully painted Ultramarine army and it's always a bit embarising to fight against him with a bunch of bluetaced and unpainted models.
So, one unit is done(-ish) and the next one coming right up.
