Andi - You're not dead yet?! WOW! :p As always you come back with something to fluster us with. It's a beast! I love the feel of it, techno mixed with organic. The only thing I can think to criticise (except your age) is the marine's legs look a little too wide or stretched. Otherwise, great stuff!

Oh, I'm back alright and I must say the rottening thing -it's all about age. one day you'll both understand ;)
The legs of the marines are a bit widely spread but not quite as unnatural as it seems in the pics. His guts are floating out over his ... his..... between his legs, so they cover it a bit. But in the next batch of pics you'll hopefully notice that it's quite a natural "Hey-I'm-just-sitting-in-a-very-natural-and-relaxed-way-since-I'm-so-cool-pose".
I did some more details to his palanquin yesterday, and continued working on the crew carrying him forward.

As a side note I'v built me some Daemons too, since I feel that for what bears the mighty frightening and chilling name "lesser daemons" in our beloved codex should not be manifested as the "larger-than-lesser-daemons" in codex Daemons.
I'll get some pics up of them within a short time. A year or so maybe.. two?

HA HA! Now I even figured out how to share pics from Flickr :D
The following pics are of one of my "lesser daemons" I'll be using in my army. I try to make them all individuals while keeping the old Nurgle-feel. The only pre-fab model I'll use is the Nurgle Lord from the fantasy range -he is just too sweet. I've added some minor details to him just to make him look slightly more 40K-ish.
Anyway, here's the first little daemon.

A slightly messy update.
I did some work on my army yesterday and also took a few pics of it.
Now, the quality of those pics are ...let's say questionable. Yeah.
Anyway. I've kept on sculpting on the Sorcerer, but there's still quite a few details missing. The curing of GS and the layering needed makes progress un-fast.

The unit of Lesser Daemons are also subject of evolution. Here's a couple of shots of them. The Fantasy Nurgle Lord is their leader -I know there's no rules for such but in my more narrative army he fills this role.

In the next pic you can see the last two Daemon-stand-ins. It'll be two bases with nurgloidgiantflies.

Finally a few shots of the core of the army -my PlaugeMarines.
I'm building some of tehm from ordinary Chaos Space Marines but I also bought the DeathGuards from ForgeWorld. As a substitue for two of the Marines in the unit riding along with the Sorcerer in the LandRaider I'll be using the Nurgle Prophets also from Forgeorld. I hope it'll bring some apocalyptic air to the unit.
Last night was also the night when the old watereffects got used. It was ages ago since that happened and I realise there's still a lot of practice to be done until the result is satisfying.
On those pics it's still pinkish but the dried result is quite nice.

I got the idea of painting the bolters red from chipsnfish's project -so I owe him.

Got a few more, even crappier, pics of my army. I think I managed to break every rule of how to take pics of a miniwhile at it, but still. They are only WIPs, so bear with me:)

Todays pics are of the Rhino which can bee seen earlier in the thread.

Finally the first pic of my defiler. For those of you who remember it was first mentioned in my old thread "tale of two defilers" or something like that.
This will be the other one of those.

Cheers guys! Happy to disturb:)
Last night I kept on doing more details to the daemons. I intend to actually make them paintable...and paint them too.
And there's quite a lot of mending to be done in order to get them fisished. Things that look quite nice from a distance can turn out real crap when you start painting. So at the moment I'm doing things like adding gums around teeth and sharpen bulged edges and such. It's quite finescaled stuff though and as I needed a break from it I picked up that Defiler. It'll be like a huge maggot. But in his belly you can see how people are being digested. Painfully digested that is.
I'm using a Corpsecart from VampireCounts for that. It's mouth will be made of very angry teeth. Many and very, very bity.
Four of the six legs will be from a defiler and the two backlegs will be from something else. Maybe a sentinel, that would make it look quite fast and that's quite essential IMHO as maggots don't really look all that "fleet"-ish.

For the belly I'll experiment a bit with the watereffects in hope to get a suitable milky-opac-lard-tissue.
The thing that still puzzles me is the cannon. I might just ignore it, but that'd make him even less vehicle-istic. So, we'll see what happends

As far as my consumtion of GS goes...well as far as I'm only working on small 28mm models, I almost use nothing at all. The major part of GS used is just pure waste. Mixing far too much, way more that you spend.
If I do get any leftovers I add them to the Rhino. It's like a GS-graveyard really.
But the Defiler...well that's a different story.
I use... ... much?
or rather "really, really much".
It's still nothing compared to what I used in my early days of sculpting though. The trick is not to mix more than you use, and in all honesty, you often use very, very small amounts.
But to be just a little more exact -I buy a 36" GS every ..third/fourth month maybe?

I'll get pics up soon.

Wow, thats a fair hunk of GS. 4 sticks usually lasts me forever but I don't really do the massive GS productions you do lol. Soon you'll be at the point of not buying any plastic toy soldiers and just sculpting everything ;)

I like the idea of the Maggot-Defiler........ or rather like-like much.
